i/o error 131

Hello, I have a problem with editing IMG archives..

I'm using Alci's IMG Editor, when i want to rebuild archive, then at the end of rebuilding becomes an error. So I decided to rebuild archive by IMG tool. Then also at the end of rebuilding an error appears..: I/O error 131.

Problem appeard today, I didn't have it earlier.. I did nothing with this .img file..

What causes this?

mm... well i also had problems of these kind at the begin. I'm not really sure why, but some modders think that they mods will be protected checking the "read only" checkbox on their .DDF/TXD files, of course, importing one of these files into the .img will cause you a variety of errors, if you have this problem (of course you should have look at the latest mod or mods you have) just turn off the "Read only" check box in the files you have imported, and reimport into IMG, that should do it, also try ReSpawn G-IMG, it's a pretty cool tool

 

BTW, if you problem keep appearing put some screenshot of the message error, also please tell if you have Windows Vista, that could explain all.

I don't have Vista, I'm running on XP, I'll post a screenchot later, now I'm in school. And as I remember i have turned off "read only" already...

I will try G-IMG and I will tell you what happen.

Try this:

 

Right click Alci's IMG Editor exe, and click "Run as", put the User Name and password, now try.

Alright, I think that I solved the problem.

Now, I'm using G-IMG and Alci's IMG editor both at the same time ;]

And I know what caused this error... Two .dff files were messed up (in game they was normal, werid thing..), and when I wanted to rebuild archive, then it happened...

When I wanted to replace and rebuild only in G-IMG, then error also appeard...

But I find one thing: In Alci's IMG editor I'm replacing files, then saving it, and then in G-IMG I'm rebuilding the archive. For now it works fine :]
