Just something I've realized that could be another thing different with GTA IV. In the previous GTAs Claude, as far as I remember, he gets filthy rich. Tommy gets his giant mansion in VC. CJ has a whole gang behind him.

And for Nikko, he doesn't really gain an empire or anything, he's still just a man on the streets. Heck, even the last safehouse you get isn't that nice.

Wanna be a balla

shot caller

20 inch blades

on the impala

a caller getting laid tonight

Swisher rolled tight, gotta sprayed by Ike

I hit the HIIIGHWAY, making money the FLYYYY WAY

But there's got to be a BETTER WAY!

A BETTER WAY, A BETTER WAY, YEAHHHHHHH!

Breaking Bohan

Yes - that is a key point, and it really doesn't make a lot of sense - and it certainly doesn't give you much to do after you beat the game. I think the game could be vastly improved if they would have included the option for you to spend your money on property and other things ...

After the mission is complete there is just no sense of purpose left for Nikko (not even superficial ones) - like buying a hotel/house. Balls!

It seems like these should have been fairly obvious and relatively easy options to include in the game (they've done it before) - and I think they would've added an additional layer to this game that is badly needed.

lmao that song cracks me up, I thought it was like "Call her get laid tonight, better get it right if you gon eat steak tonight"

anyway I heard that Rockstar was going for a rags to slightly better rags or something; it's kinda like GTA: 3, GTA: LCS and GTA: VCS because you don't get to buy any mansions or property.

They made it that way so you can feel like your in the "real world"...nobody would care for a immigrant with no gang...so doing this makes the player feel like he/she is in the real world with real people.

It's no fun being in a game world where know you can beat everyone up and your above the law, everything would feel dead if it was that way again.

I think they made the right decision.

But this affects the sandbox element of the game. After you've done everything there's nothing to keep you playing, unless you start a new game. But like i said, a sandbox game should be endless. When you complete all the main/side missions in GTA4 your left with shallow mini games. Now that's not my idea of a sandbox world game...

Do what I do.

Reenact a real life.

When the game loads up hop into your Manana and drive respectivly to a Burger Shot and ask for a McGriddle then go to a building Algonquin and act like you are working as a social worker and then go to the projects and ask for Shamik Taylor and then act like the Black people there are against you and start a shootout.

The story in GTA III actually is no different. So Claude gets millions of dollars, than what? He's still a no body, much like Niko is.

So, in effect, GTAIV is no better than GTAIII in this regard... A shame because IV should be 1 more than III.

You do realize that in actual fact GTA IV is a proper sequel to GTA III? That's why there are so many similarities.

Except III has more things to do, a better story, more varied, memorable, creative and non linear mission structure. I hate how people compare IV to III. It's not like it at all.

Yep, I realize. My point was that it's shame that with so many years between the sequel and the 'original' this has not remedied.

Name a list of things I can do in III that can't be done in IV.

Rampages, taxi missions, ambulance missions, firetruck missions, rc missions, payphone missions, missions where you take specified cars to the docks - while they're similar to what Brucie offered in his car theft missions, they're far deeper and don't hold the players hand. On top of this, the missions were far more non linear, and open ended and weren't scripted, and the mission variety was absolutely insane. And then there's mastering the Dodo...among other things.

You're talking about GTA III, right? Or the entire series as a whole?

Most of what you just listed there, I don't remember doing with Claude.
