Pedestrian crime rate too low...

One thing I kind of expected in IV, was a more realistic pedestrian crime rate.

I don't think I've seen one ped step out of line since I got IV (appart from the scripted pullover on one of the bridges).

I'm even sure I saw more ped crimes in SA than in IV...

Ok, I've seen one or two guys getting chased down the street on foot. But I've never seen like car chases or full on gun fights.

Have any of you seen any serious ped crimes? I mean like car chases or gun fights...

My game was idle (you know, with the wobbly effect) outside my Bohan safehouse. One time it zoomed in on a ped who randomly stole a guys' car. They both got in a fist fight, another guy joined in, and another guy stood there and rooted them on. The police came and whatnot.

 

I see these rarely, but it's great when I do. I like how R* captured it. There's probably plenty of crime, but Niko won't see all of it. He won't be everywhere at once, so actually witnessing a random crime in action isn't very common.

 

I like the crime rate to sum it up for you.

 

I've seen plenty of gun fights, to tell you the truth. I shot a gun (I think a pigeon?) back near the first safe house and about 5 guys broke out by taking cover and shooting me. It was crazy. I was in a good hiding place and saw the cops come in and join the fight with the gang members. I felt like I was in some sort of action movie. I've seen the occasional wacko driver, but I've never seen car chases.

But I do wish for some more crazy drivers and chases. LC feels quite boring if you look at that aspect though.

Not when I drive nicely. If you're stopping at a red light, cars behind you just want to go around you and then scratches your car when you don't see them coming. On the freeway I experience them changing lanes without signals and bumping into you, they also drive really slow.

I agree. I would like to see the peds commit more crimes like hold up a store or lead the cops on car chases. I have seen a few peds do random things like fight and jack cars tho. One thing I noticed thats kinda stupid IMO was when the cops that are walking hold their guns towards a ped and walk with them down the street. Where the f*ck are they going? Another silly animation was when I seen a cop arrest a ped, the cop had his gun out on the ped but he didnt shove the ped in the car. The ped just got in like him and the cop were buddies about to go drinking. WTF?

Once I climbed the stairs to leave a subway area, while holding an ak47 a group of peds in a car attacked me with ak47's...I hid and called the cops, cops won with just 9mm's...

R* needs to drop this whole "We need every little thing to be real even the peds that have to follow the laws"

 

I would love to see peds rob banks with ski-masks on, drug deals out in Bohan, peds steal cars, beat up other peds, peds get drunk and see them walkin down the street, gangs have 6 star shoot outs with the cops, some type of mafia-crimes in Alderney, russian drug-trades.

I agree completely. I've never even heard a police siren for something I havent caused. The only police-criminal fights I've seen are ones that I've caused.

 

 

Bohan seems way too safe. All of LC seems safe and clean. It would ramp the atmosphere up huge amounts if you were just driving along and a police car sped past you with its siren on, on its way to a crime that has nothing to do with you.

I had a run in with a couple of the members of the mob, near the restaurant where Ray hangs out.

 

They started attacking me, then the cops came, and they had a small shootout in the street. It does happen, just not as often as it probably should.

People not starting a gunfight when they are being arrested by the cops is actually the most realistic. Shooting "ordinary" people is one thing, but shooting a cop is still something that alot of criminals are very hesitant over.
