PC version has decided to stop loading saved games

A few hours ago I could play just fine, but whenever I tried to load one of my saved games just now, all I get is a black screen, and I have to end the process.

 

I can start a new game, and after saving that, it seems to load fine, it's just my two previous saved files that won't start. So I suppose it is possible to start again, but I had pretty much completed the game, and I don't want to go through it all again just have the same problem happen later.

CPU: Intel Duo 6420 (2.13GHz)

RAM: 2040 MB

Graphics Card: Onboard Intel 82945G, 128 MB

Direct X 9

 

I've never installed any mods, and one save file was saved just after the mission where you save Lance from the scrapyard, and the other was saved just before that mission and after just finishing the fireman R3.

Well usually this would happen if you changed the main.scm file....

 

Try running the game in Windows 98 Compatibilty mode.

Still get the same thing. Tried 2000 as well, just in case, and still nothing.
