Fuzzknuckles
Equally DnB is made by chavs, for chavs. That's not really true at all. It started out of the Rave scene in the 90s, before Chavs really existed. It was generally a black music scene, with a predominatly black audience. There aren't many black chavs. Ragga/Dancehall and Breakbeats collided, with the aggressive hard-edged emceeing of Ragga coming to the forefront to form Jungle. Jungle was the basis for Drum and Bass. Jungle has a much dirtier, less produced sound and is generally a lot more aggressive. D&B is notable for its lack of emcees and for its more "intelligent" use of samples. It uses less dancehall/ragga/reggae sounds and is known to sound more "futuristic". Chavs are more into Happy Hardcore and shun the jungle/d&b scene, as they're really not welcome. The Jungle scene is a dark scene, and has a lot more violence linked to it. Signatures are dumb anyway.
xrk
In general country is made by rednecks for rednecks... Equally DnB is made by chavs, for chavs. (Generalisation much?) Although on the whole it is true and you all know it! I know I'd much prefer a Nova and a Big Mac over a Pick Up and a Shotgun though! "Chav's" as they are today were not even about when dnb was big. ..and still how is it made by chavs?... like who?

"Chav's" as they are today were not even about when dnb was big. ..and still how is it made by chavs?... like who? OK, so not necessarily 'made' by chavs, but these days it is all too common to hear chavs (at least here in the south east) listening to DnB in their cars as they 'crooz' around town. I do it too, but I am not a chav (although probably am in socieities small-minded eyes) as I don't do it for attention, I keep the windows up, and wherever possible, show decorum and courtesy when playing it loud. And don't do it in the town centre at 11 o clock at night thats for sure! The comment really came from the 'raves' that I have attended in the past. They are frequented by chavs mostly, and the music consisted mostly of DnB, Jungle and Hardcore. True that they do like their fair share of Happy Hardcore, but I feel that there is a fairly large consensus amongst the unitiated that DnB is for chavs. I can't say any artists, all I know is the DnB shops I have been into with friends have been nothing other than 'chavvy', which is where the comment came from. It was sweeping and pretty much not all encompassing of the people who make it, but definately the people who listen to it. To be honest I know that its not made by chavs, I just said it to get a reaction from anyone that knows what I am talking about, I was just after a rant really so sorry! Country is definately for rednecks though!

Guerilla85
Is there anybody else in here who misses MSX FM from GTa3? I was hoping with the more present day setting in LC they would get Moving Shadow back on the radio... Best Radio Station of GTa3. Not a patch on Flash FM from VC though! Ew I hate that radio station, makes me feel like im going to have a seizure and go deaf, I'm glad they never brought that abomination back. Just not my style of music, and the annoying DJ had the most irritating voice ever spoken in human history...I listened to flashback fm mostly and game fm along with kjah and double cleff. As for gta4, my absolute favorite would be ElectroChoc and Tuff Gone (gong?) Edited June 5, 2008 by Guerilla85

Tony Mozzarelli 80
I agree i hate the MCs ruining decent tracks, but you're just as likely to hear an MC over a D&B track as a Jungle track because kids these days don't know the difference, I like both genres personally, but down with weak MCs

Famous rappers call themselves MC's and such... @Danny-Vain: Electrochoc ain't that bad, it's decent Electro. C'mon, it at least beats the hell out of another rap station. (notice how rap doesn't get a capital letter )
Tony Mozzarelli 80
Well i guess rappers can qualify as MCs (Master of ceremonies) But yeah i thought Electro Choc was Ok. The hip hop stations were pretty weak though and i like hip hop

I actually like all genres of music, you just have to look through all the sh*t till you find the good stuff, same with all musical genres really True, I was a fan of gangsta rap, in it's early days that is... It was a movement inspired by social injustice and poverty, much like punk... But both genres have lost touch with their nature. If you listen to NWA, 2PAC,... Those lyrics were filled with beautiful ideologies (and some with hate, grounded hate). Best example for me is 2Pac's "Keep Ya Head Up".
Tony Mozzarelli 80
It's not that they have lost touch, they have just been usurped by the media. so now they just churn out generic bollocks so they can sell more, but you can still find decent stuff, you just have to look harder for it
