Not true. Go out drinking with Packie and they both get absolutely hammered, the worse you will ever get drunk in fact. Driving is a complete nightmare. I took Packie for a game of darts and then to Comrades bar, I could barely go over 10MPH and I was almost spewing myself with the shaky visuals. And I can take a drink too. Moral of the story, Packie has Irish blood and he was just as smashed as Niko. Bet their heads hurt real bad the next day, what a night out and I whipped him at darts three times in a row too. an english boy Posted June 4, 2008 Share Posted June 4, 2008 do you get drunk the same ammount with with all the people/in all the bars. or does it differ. i took carmen out and couldnt get a taxi so i just got in a car and it was a little blurry but alright, the polic chased me so i ropped of carmen and then did one, got away easily. I still can't believe they just have them go and come out and boom your drunk, yet again another step back from the previous game, unforgivable. Once I had two and a half bottles of martini, half a bottle vodka and six or seven beers. That was the night I met my woman. but, after seven years of approval/sobering - I must admit it was worth it. party on! the funny thing about getting drunk in-game is that I feel much, much worse watching that spooky vision than being drunk in reality. (except for going to bed as p'ssed as a chafer in early April). edit: ^^ very true. con·tro·ver·sy - not so much. MADD would have gone mad. Tell me about it; I took Packie to Bahamma Mamas (I think) and as soon as they came out the bar Niko fell down and held he's head for like 10 seconds before getting up. I remember in the previews last year they spoke about being able to get drunk in the game. It turned out to be a half truth becasue you only get drunk when with a friend and you have absolutely no control over Niko as he's supposedly getting drunk. It would have been nice to had control over the amount Niko got to drink just as you would at a soda machine. Just press Left button to keep buying drinks. I'd say they ran out of time and didn't put any effort into the activity itself which is indeed a shame as it just cuts down on the interactivity you'd expect in this day and age. Lol yeah my father has some Serbian friends and the amount of slivovitz (Šljivovica, plum brandy) they consume is incredible... I've tried drinking it for a whole night. They gave us all those bullsh*t videos on the main site about the bar, the clubs, the baseball team, the shows, they played it out like it was going to be a real virtual city, but that wasn't the case. I agree with you, but you can't say it was a step backwards, just because it didn't show a 5 second clip with romantic music playing in the background of CJ & his date, as this time you actually get an effect. I agree with you, but you can't say it was a step backwards, just because it didn't show a 5 second clip with romantic music playing in the background of CJ & his date, as this time you actually get an effect. It is a step backwards, I don't want to see a video game in this day and age cut to a black screen as a passage of time. That is crap. This is so-called 'Next-Gen' and they can't even give us interesting and entertaining visuals. Don't make a movie about the bar and make it look like I can get trashed and piss on the wall when all I get to do is walk into a yellow marker. So what they gave us a blurred vision and funny walking animations, how the hell do the cops always know when I am drunk and driving but they don't notice me swerving everywhere when I am sober?
