Basically what this is, is a competition that will run from now till late-ish november. You post your dvd count here, No need to go into specifics like titles etc, Only that you bought another E.g 12 this week etc. Posts must be made at least once a month and at the max once a week. For obvious reasons I cannot regulate whether people have not bought these titles or not, and proof will be needed at the end, Proof of a photo etc, with a piece of paper saying your Gtaf member name, to avoid people posting others dvd collections. If you buy a triple pack movie, Yes it does count for 3 movies, as such Scarface187's collection has to be revised At the moment this competiton only applies for DVD collecters, So sorry to all you old-skool VHS lovers or nu skool Blu-ray/HD-DVD users. Cuz if that were the case, my film collection would likely jump from 50 movies on DVD to around 300 to 400 films total. Damn my cheap ass for not wanting to buy things. I'm looking forward to building it up more, eBay is a good tool to getting new DVDs for ten bucks a pop if that. I'm interested in the movies you guys have... are we talking quality stuff or does it look like Half Baked, Scarface, Superbad, and Dumb and Dumber (incidentally, I have all those... ). Pics would be nice, my collection is half the size of some of yours and it looks pretty stacked. But 300 is sh*t in terms of quantity... there's a film forum I belong to with many many people in the "1000+ club". I'm talking walls of films. They must have serious cash to blow. Yeah dude they do, each season counts as one title. @Candarelli I'll put you up, I actually want to have people start out in this comp with about 450 or less titles to start with, I know theres people out there with more, But I want this comp to be at least a little bit fair. BTW scarface and superbad ruled. TOGA62 Posted June 5, 2008 Share Posted June 5, 2008 um, I consider my place of work as my personal DVD collection because any film title I want to watch on DVD I can do so for free, whenever I want, and for however long i want. And considering I spend a large majority of my time in and around this collection for over 3 years now I think I am allowed to call it my collection. I mean hell, if you asked if I had a title I could tell you exactly where it was as well. If that counts towards the competition then my DVD movie count would be somewhere around 150,000 films on DVD, give or take. He keeps every single title typed and archived in an excel file which allows him to reference stuff according to genre, etc. I should try to get the excel file from him. There's no need to have 300 if you're not a movie buff. Some people need something to collect and most people enjoy watching a good flick, so it adds up. You got those collectors that go out and buy more than they can watch just to add up the collection. Me, I like collecting them... but I've always been a big movie buff, personally I don't have enough... I get tired of the movies I have because I've watched them all so many times... my Taxi Driver disc is almost ten years old, it's probably been watched at least 30 times and it is still in pristine condition.
