tarquin biscuitbarrel
the AI is the extremely good considering the sandbox environment. for example if you fire a gun in the street, you get angry local gang members shooting at you and trying to hit you with their cars. also you get angry cops chasing you (sometimes engaging in a shootout with the local gang members aswell). pedestrians will run away, or take cover behind nearby objects like benches or trash cans. even cars will stop on the road and the driver will either start reversing very fast or bail out of the vehicle and run for it. i haven't experienced anything so stupid it becomes annoying. yet. in all the top games i can think of you can pick holes in the AI, GTA4 has some of the best AI i've seen. wayninja
Except for when you fire a gun where absolutely no one can see you and cars plow into each other and peds panic and start running blindly. It's a bit over the top. If someone heard a gunshot but saw no threat anywhere, I don't think many of them would crash into the car in front of them or get out of their car and run away.... Going off-topic for a bit; Does anyone else find the in-game time passes to quickly in GTA IV?
tarquin biscuitbarrel
Going off-topic for a bit; Does anyone else find the in-game time passes to quickly in GTA IV? not unless you're asked to pick a friend up in an hour, and he's waiting on the opposite side of the city. it takes a lot more than one game hour (2 real minutes) to get there unless you take helicopter/taxi. but you can take a taxi. also, if you don't like playing at night because of the dark you can go to a pay n spray and advance 3 hours each time (2-3 times is usually enough to get the sun back up). Jackmackg
yeah i know you can pick at the AI in any game but i got to say that its still not that good. it does take a big cpu load. also and lets say that computers still got ways to go for gaming. true. but remember if you were shooting for 1 second in real time, it would be 30 seconds in game time. if you heard gunfire for 30 seconds in real life i think you would panic... Well really it would be one gun shot sound that was slowed down to last 30 secs. XD also i think that the time goes so fast so you can get to do night and day missions much faster. but i got to say, if your on a 5th story of a buildings inside a room and fire one shot from a 9mm the peds will still panic and run around like its a war. But its been like this in GTA for ever and i still like the game.
