Ice_Crusher
A couple of things I wanted to mention about GTA : VCS gameplay. I was thinking why couldn't they have "Empire Building in GTA4? For those who played the game. I think that would be really cool if you could do so. Imagine taking over businesses, and building your empire and run the streets with prostitution, loan sharks, having casinos, gambling(S.A), drug trafficing, etc. Just imagine the gameplay if that ever happends. For example, you do missions for the maffia, and eventually run there business by taking them out and there gang. Also, I really enjoyed VCS combat system. Coming from behind and breaking ther necks, throwing them, grab on there shirt and pound the sh*t out of them. I really wish they can do something in the next GTA. For a game that took less then an effort to make(VCS) they sure can do a whole lot better. Your thoughts? Ice

nickstemoeilijk
Perhaps the VCS forum would be a better place for this, or otherwise post in one of the numerous other "What GTA is missing, blablabla" topics.
mark3boyz
I love GTA 4, it is my favorite game even over Vice City which was my original favorite, but it really needed a better fighting system. GTA 4 had a fighting system that was really really weak. VCS was a truly awful game. But the fighting in it was fantastic. GTA 4 needed to have a cool fighting system like this which I figured it would. Also who else is dissapointed by the knife? What a piece of sh*t. Niko looks like a complete homo just carelessly swinging that thing around. It was great in San Andreas but took a huge leap backwards in GTA4. It shouldnt have even been in the game IMO. Should have just been replaced by a large caliber revolver.
Ice_Crusher
Niko Bellic wasn't in VCS! You must be a very stupid person, buddyie! I never said he was "buddie", I was simply stating that GTA4 should have certain elements like VCS had! And I posted it here in this forum because I was referring to GTA4 weasel dick! Not really, as this does not deal with VCS- he is opining that certain elements in VCS should've made the transition to IV. I'm inclined to agree to a certain degree (Empire building was pretty cool but given the storyline, maybe not all that appropriate) but the fighting system in IV is a good deal better than in previous games. I didn't care much for the different fighting styles in SA; to me it seemed like he'd "forget" what he'd learned and go back to his original bitchedout mode of fighting like in the beginning. I had the PS2 version, maybe that had something to do with it.

I'll answer your thread question/remark because you've been nice to me and not a lot of people on this board find it amusing when someone else comments on the nature of their thread. I believe the system of Building and owning properties worked well... To a certain extent that is. As you know, by the end of VCS, when you own all the property, there's no gang left to fight. That's a downside. But building/buying property is indeed the first feature that I would like to see make a come-back. And I'm a great fan of the fighting system too. Picking up people and throwing them in the water is so funny. Snapping the neck is a good move. Though I must say that the fighting system of GTA IV does not really disappoint me. I find it even slightly better with it's dodging-followed-by-combination system. Although it does lack the function to grab somebody by the collar and toss him. --Vega--
Some things from San Andreas should be in there too. But yeah that Empire mode would have been awesome in IV.
Jackmackg
that Empire mode sounds something that could be a game all buy its self. like a gta sim city.

Ice R* should have just made holding X+[] together the grab/throw button while targeting a pedestrian, it would have been great throwing pedestrians in front of cars passing by, it is harder to do that with only pushing, R* does some amazing things with their games, but they get the smallest worthwhile things wrong or they just don't add the smallest obvious things i.e grab/throw button, it annoys me. Also who else is dissapointed by the knife? What a piece of sh*t. Niko looks like a complete homo just carelessly swinging that thing around.I like the way niko uses the knife, it is much better, CJ swung the knife like a retard. Tatertotts
I didn't type that to just let the thread die. Thread killer! I think being able to grab people would be great. Throwing a brick at someone's head and then hurling them in front of an oncoming train before they come to would be a new sport in multiplayer. I'd also like to be able to aim a baseball bat at something besides people.
The Kirbster
VCS's Empire Building was really retarded. I felt that I wasted my money when I bought VCS. I'm glad they took it out for good.

GTAaddictforever
GTA 4 turned the Grand Theft Auto series we all knew and loved into an emo roleplaying game with a serious lack of fun.
