I still get extreme joy out of the simple act of tormenting peds, and that's BEFORE the real crime spree starts. Bored? Not yet at all. Should my single player excursions fail me, there's still multi. Haven't even really touched multi that much at all. What little I played showed promise, when people set up reasonable games. 2v2 TDM across the whole of Algonquin, with limited vehicles? NOT reasonable. Damn boring, at that. COD4 would win if it weren't for grenade spam. Grenade spam sucks. I refuse to play any game where I can die on spawn from some f*ck randomly tossing grenades on the opposite side of the map. Team Fortress 2 FTW!!! Now THAT is an online game I've gotten serious mileage out of, and I don't even play it on PC! (Wish I could. *smacks dusty old PC*) Everyone has different opinions. Ph3L1z14n0 Posted June 7, 2008 Share Posted June 7, 2008 I think i already said it here or on another topic, but the expectations for this game were stratosphere high, we actually didn't realize it was just game, and for that i was dissapointed........................at first!!! It was later that i fully appreciated how great the game was, how the action improved, story improved, movement and fluidity improved, cars, graphics, even mini-missions like MJ deliveries and brucie's races got even better, i always had my own insecurities about why was it that i liked SA, did i liked SA because ALL the things you can do or because it is really a good game? I concluded that SA was a fantastic game! but almost without doubts after a few play hours, i just realized how amazing IV was, and it gave me a taste of how V will be even better! I try to concentrate on the race rather than the killing It's quite fun avoiding the random people who decide to try and kill the racers because they are in last place and adds some excitement and uncertianty tothe race. one of the races around central park a guy grabbed a bus and started driving the wrong way aroudn the track smashing into people cars. I was in second quite far behind the 1st place guy coming up to the final straight. the bus smashes into him and I win. He was cursing so hard down the mic. hehe. Its like one f*ck up and you're screwed for the whole race. Im the kinda guy that gets really pissed when I lose and it sucks. But atleast I finish the race. Its too bad theres nothing in it for those that do atleast that. Pride? IMO they took out stuff I didn't care for like customizing my player and cars, and trimmed down the more tedious side missions. Everything is more convenient in this version. GTA was always about the city, the storyline and the characters for me and this game got all of them spot on. IV - 9.5 COD4 - 8 Why 8? Graphics were pretty glossy, animations were last year, incredibly short campaign but talk about visceral- in retrospect, I'd give it a 9. I seem to recall certain moments where I'd broken a sweat and my heart was pounding...thats defo worth an extra point right there. Of the CODs tho, I liked COD2 Big Red ONE better. Only slightly, though. I like that it was modern warfare, but I digress. For me, IV is still the pinnacle, altho once I'm done, I'm lookin fwd to Oblivion (heard a lot about it but never hit it up just yet) and I'm also waiting on Fable 2. When will I be done? I dunno...I still plan on playing thru again and changing my decisions to see what else happens. Just an excuse to play through again tho. OMG you have to get Oblivion... if there's one game other than OoT that gets a perfect 10 in my book it's OBLIVION! IV was a little dissapointing because there aren't as many little toys to screw around with but we'll have to wait for gta vice city 2 / SA 2 for that I still love the new gta engine though. I have never completed the storyline of any GTA until well over 100hrs gameplay; why would I want the experience to end so fast? When it does, well, we'll see... GTA IV is perfect for me cuz I really didn't care much for all the extra bs that the other GTA's had... Perfectly valid It's not wrong to finish a game quickly, and the temptation to just do mission after mission is immense. And I don't think it's somehow more 'mature' or whatever to take yer time, either OT, I play every day when I can - usually has to be late at night..
