RONIN1191 Posted June 3, 2008 Share Posted June 3, 2008 Yup, still playing it. 106 hours in, 62% completion. I don't agree with OP's post regarding the scores of IV and COD4. IV - 9.5 COD4 - 8 Why 8? Graphics were pretty glossy, animations were last year, incredibly short campaign but talk about visceral- in retrospect, I'd give it a 9. I seem to recall certain moments where I'd broken a sweat and my heart was pounding...thats defo worth an extra point right there. Of the CODs tho, I liked COD2 Big Red ONE better. Only slightly, though. I like that it was modern warfare, but I digress. For me, IV is still the pinnacle, altho once I'm done, I'm lookin fwd to Oblivion (heard a lot about it but never hit it up just yet) and I'm also waiting on Fable 2. When will I be done? wayninja Posted June 3, 2008 Share Posted June 3, 2008 Agree with Ronin, the SP campaign in COD4 was way too short, but some of those missions were a blast. I'd say IV edges out COD4 in overall score slightly, maybe 8.9 to 9.1 or so. But I've actually gone back to San Andreas. In the past once I completed a GTA game, I would still continue to play it heavy, and get bored quickly. Now, with GTA IV, I am trying not to play it as much, so it won't become boring just as quickly. However I am playing SSBB a hell of a lot more. That game never gets boring. Features that I didn't like to start with are now getting really annoying. eg taking cover next to a column is a bit of a lottery. The story is a bit banal and is spoonfed to you. Time for a rethink of the franchise or it could be going down a slippery slope. I bought this as I had figured that it would be a major leap forward in the series, but apart from the car and the body physics nothing has been improved on, really. Each time I am on a mission where I have to chase some guy and kill him and then realize it is a chase to certain point because he can't be killed until then just pisses me off.
