anus
I deleted NTLDR accidently not too long ago and I had to reinstall Windows. Try using the XP disc and repairing the installation, if it doesn't work, you'll have to format and reinstall Windows. I myself tried to repair the installation, but it didn't do a damn thing. If you want to backup the stuff in the hard drive, just move the hard drive to a different PC and copy the data there or burn them to discs or something and then move the hard drive back to the original PC and format and reinstall Windows. You could also reinstall Windows only without formatting, then all your data will not be erased, but I wouldn't recommend it really. Might as well do a clean install while you're at it. Star-Lord
The answer is exactly what Warlord said the fastest and easiest way is to remove the HDD and put it into another computer as slave drive copy the "NTLDR" from the c:\ to your slave X:\put the slave Drive back (set it as master) your computer will boot up without a hitch. I've done it lots of times and it has always work for me.
Saget
If you don't have another computer, I think you can just install windows in a different partition. |DeviantArt|Flickr|YouTube|#amf|

GTA3Freak-2001
You usually should be able to do a repair install of XP which simply re-installs windows while keeping your files and folders as well as programs intact. I've had this error before and this has always worked. Its different for everyone I suppose though.
