Your Most Scariest Moment In Life

When lightning hit my friend's house.

This happened in October of last year; a few of my friends and I went over my friend Dan's house (irony). There was a really bad thunderstorm and Dan's house has a giant metal pole linked ot his house. I was playing Guitar Hero with Dan and my other friends were on the comp right next to us. In a split second there was a blinding flashing of white light that came over the whole room. One of my friends asked, "Who took a picture?"

rofl. Right after that came the loudest noise of my life. I gigantic, loud f*cking BOOM rang in my ears. Scared sh*tless, I threw the GH guitar up in the air and ducked under the bed, like the pussy I am (we were right by a window, after all.)

Yeah okay. My stories aren't necessarily scary, but a wtf-factor instead.

This happened about 5 years ago (living in New Orleans at the time). You know how at night you sometimes just lay there in your bed with your eyes open thinking about random crap before you fall asleep? Well I was sitting there in my bed staring at the door but thinking about god knows what. While I was about to nod off, I saw through the crack under the door that someone turned the hallway light on outside. This was odd because my parents were sleeping downstairs and my brother was away in Chicago at the time (my brother shared the room across the hall), so I had the whole 2nd floor to myself. I went outside to see who turned it on but nobody was there. I turned the light back off and went back into my room and returned to trying to fall asleep. Of course, 30 seconds later, the light turned on again. This time I sprang off my bed and RAN outside to see who it was just so I couldn't miss them. Alas, nobody was there. Now at this point I'm starting to get a little creeped out. I walk downstairs into my parents room to see if it could have been them but they were deep asleep. I even checked the damn lightswitch in the hall to see if there was some malfunction, but I saw nothing out of the ordinary. I decided to keep the light on and went back into my room and blasted some ambient music to fall asleep. I woke up the next morning at 7 AMish and the light was still on. The light never turned on again by itself after that night.

I did not personally experience this next story, my father did.

A few years back when Katrina hit, my family decided to evacuate the storm rather than ride it out (thank god we did). We drove up to Missouri where my grandparents lived and we stayed there for a couple weeks. Katrina came and went, and my father had to return to Louisiana (while me and my mom stayed at Missouri) because he works for the Newspaper there and he needed to be there to report on the situations. Our house (this was also the same house mentioned in the above story) was still intact so he went back to our home and had to sleep there. While he was sleeping one night he heard some continuous tapping outside the house. Oh, keep in mind, while he was sleeping there, our house had no electricity, there was practically ZERO stable authority (national guard didn't come 'till later), there was looting, robberies, and lots of homeless, and our house stank like sh*t because of all the rotten food in the pantry and refrigerator. New Orleans was practically a corrupt 3rd world country for a few weeks. Anyway, my father after hearing the tapping went upstairs and grabbed a baseball bat and made sure the doors were locked. He then decided to sleep upstairs in my room. He somehow fell asleep and everything was fine the next morning, but still god damn that would creep me the f*ck out.

After experiencing and hearing these stories, every night I fall asleep to my TV on and a fan on full-blast in my face. Creepy sh*t never happens anymore.

My child had to have massive open-heart surgery back in 2004. Hands down the most frightening thing I have ever been through.

Death, the threat of death and the presence of death are not even as scary as that.

That is saying alot because I have lived what some would rightfully call "a colorful life" with many things to fear or be afraid of.

You can not let fear control your life or fear is all you will ever know from then on out.

If you feel fear then attempt to release it and discover what lies beneath the fear......that is usually worthwhile and often it is very much of value to investigate when you have leisure time yet in the moment of fear time can be of the essence so releasing it is one of your few positive options.

Releasing your fear is not even close to giving in to it and it is a far cry from ignoring it as well. Fear alone has no power to offer and that is important because fear can stimulate the areas of power without or with your permission and that may work sometimes yet is not the preference of those who have survived much.

Use what you can while you are afraid and find that inner calm while you let the fear pass through you and escape while you allow its release and you will be surprised at how fear is a better friend to you when you let it go.....after all its true purpose was just to get your attention about something and holding on to it more tightly just turns it into your own personal monster.

(wich are poisinous i might add) so i walked back slowy towards the dooor always keepin' an eye on the salamanda. Then, it just starts running towards me! At that moment is freaked out but then this big fat man grabs the salamanda throughs it over the balcony!! and then he said somethin' in spanish somethin Mejor and the scariest bit was i never saw him around the place again!

Blind Joe Death

The time I saw a shark was pretty scary. I was out surfing and it came to the surface of the water less than five metres away from me. Nothing more scary than that, I was positive I was going to die.

Scarriest thing I've ever had happen was when I was out fishing at night in Texas. This was in the middle of f*cking nowhere in a pasture with a few lakes that back up to my Grandpa's Log Cabin and the Big Thicket National Forest (about 98,000 Acres of woodland and swamps). It was around 10 P.M. when we started to pack up. Just then some big black thing ran on four legs right next to us as my mom was packing up. It brushed up against her leg and ran away as I started the ATV. Scared, she got on the four wheeler and I turned on the high beams to see what the hell it was but I could see nothing across the pasture. We parked the ATV in the barn, ran inside and deadbolted all the outside doors. Only thing it could have been would be a bear or cougar.

Another thing that scared the hell out of me was when I was a kid and we had come home from dinner late one night to find a shadowy figure on the side of our house. We ran inside thinking it was an intruder. My dad got his MAC-10, ran outside, and came face to face with a crackhead. The man saw the gun and ran as fast as he could down the street.

-beeblebrox-: wow. That's pretty astonishing. I've never been that close to death, or even serious harm.

I have nothing really good. I don't scare very easily. However, a few Christmases ago, I was living in a shared house with some student friends. It's a pretty big house, Victorian, with high ceilings and bare floors; pretty good acoustics for a couple of house party gigs I played there. I was too broke to go home when they did, so I stayed on my own for about three weeks. I don't like the dark, so during that time I was sleeping with the landing light on. A few times, when I woke up, the light would be off, and doors would be open when I'm sure I left them shut. About two weeks in, I woke up just before dawn to feel a pressure on my chest, as though someone was kneeling astride me. I was a bit ill at the time so I put it down to that, but it stayed there for about three or four minutes, and I couldn't move. Then I felt a shifting of weight on the bed, and the pressure was lifted. A few seconds later, the landing light turned off.

Maybe it was a dream, but I drank myself to sleep the next two nights.

Dude watch out man I've read about those...

Their called Bloody Marys. Real demon bitches from hell... It's said that they are the ghosts of women killed after being raped. They come back to seek their revenge on unsuspecting males by forcing you to give oral to their bloody cooch... suffocating you in the process.

Real f*cked up sh*t I tell you.

Sometimes their victims don't die, they are however left with a bloody mouth, a reminder of their suffering.

Note again: Look at the steering wheel and roof of truck, i cannot slide my fingers between the wheel and roof. Imagine where my head should've been in reference to that. monocle.gif

Picture #1

Picture #2

Considering speed and the number of times it rolled, that truck's in remarkably good shape. turn.gif Bar of course the newly shaped roof.

Hey, Roper! You told that other people live in your house (your brother). Are you sure that in this moment you ware home alone?

Not alone, but it was 2am, and I know everyone was asleep. Everyone else's bedrooms are upstairs.

But it couldn't have possibly been them anyway because it would take 5 times longer for anyone to hide somewhere than it did for me to go check the kitchen. It literally took 2-3 seconds for me to be in the kitchen after the door closed. Not that anyone would do that just for kicks anyway, that's just weird, but I did check all around downstairs. Plus, my cat ALWAYS runs out immediately after the door opens, but she just stared.

A couple years ago my mother had a doctor's appointment. And they found a "mass" in her intestines. There was about a month before we found out that it was nothing. But that month I had to face the fact that I might lose her. Furthermore, I had to face the fact that my 5 year old sister might lose her. That feeling, that my sister might not have her mother during puberty, her high school graduation, her wedding, and so on.

I've been in a few car crashes. I'll take the worst of them any day over looking at my little sister's face when she asked me if our mother would be alright.

Once in my room, around 2am,it was dark,I woke up and looked around for a while and tried to fall asleep again, now,as I closed my eyes,I felt how my duvet started moving towards my feet,as if someone stood by my toes and started pulling it off,I got up and saw nothing,a few minutes later I kept hearing something, like someones stepping on a puddle of water,I look around,nothing... cryani.gif

My radio also makes a strange rattling sound,as if something is inside it,could be a baby spider that crawled in there and grew up to be a baby spider, because nothing can get in it,not even a dwarf hamster

my radio never moves around, btw,so something is definitely in it

MindCorrupt

One time when camping; i was on the sidestep of my mates pajero with my arm hooked around the roof rack when holding my tin and pipe and the other hand holding 2 cans of bundy (one open) while he was whipping it sideways up a orange pea gravel road at 60-70kmph in the middle of a national park. When we got to where we had set up that day about 1 and half ks down the road he ripped the handbreak up and almost rolled it as we did a full 180. Ended up with a bruise strip accross my arm where I was holding on lol

Funny, another time one of my other mates laid back down on his hood holding on with his hands in the wheel wells and I was on the sidestep while he booted it around a mudpit in our local pine forrest (plantation) in the middle of the night, my mates back was getting air as he was went over bumps, and we ended up plowing through a waist height barbed wire fence (it used to be a pig farm, hence the mudpit). I thought i was gonna get cut up by the fence good haha

Good times

When my dad was at about 100-120 mp/h on a Mitsubishi Eclipse. We were running, then some dude hit us in the back, we spin 90º and then rolled 5-7 times. In the 7th time, the car hit a pole, and was bent, almost split in 2. I blacked out, but before it, I crapped my pants fearing death.

Can I ask how, going at almost 120mph, a guy was able to catch up to you and "hit" you in the back? And what do you mean by "running"?

If you are saying someone t-boned your car in the back and clipped it so it lost control and spun you out, it sounds like that was your father's fault for speeding and going through an intersection or something when he shouldn't have.

If that was the case, as unfortunate as it was, sounds like you guys might have deserved it.

when i was in first grade, my family went to disney world (that's not the scary part!!) one night, my parents went to buy food from a little store in the hotel. and left me and my older brother at a little TV kiosk to wait for them. My brother got bored and said he was going to go look for our parents, and left my 6-year-old self all alone. i waited a little longer then went to go look for the rest of my family in the lobby, but didn't see them anywhere, so i went to our room, but they weren't there either. at that point i was crying and wandering aimlessly when i saw my mom and some people who worked at the hotel all running towards me. 13 years later, we all still blame my brother for that!

oh and there was also the time when my brother and i were playing chicken. he was on a bike, i wasn't. I have one less tooth because of it, so what does that tell you? we blame him for that too (but other than scarring me for life, he's an ok guy.)

I was staying over at my friends house in Chicago. He doesn't live in a very nice neighborhood, either.

So we were walking out to the gas station, roughly about 2 miles away. The time was about 11:00PM, at night, obvisouly.

I knew it was a bad idea to start out with, but I wen't anyways.

We were about 1 mile into our walk, when these three people walk up to us.

Must have been around.. 17, 18 years old?

GUY1 "What the f*ck you guys think were doing out here?!

I looked overat my friend, with a OMG, WTF? look on my face, he says "Walking to the gas station.."

GUY1 " You know this is (some gang) territory at night, dont you?" <--something like that?

ME: "no..I just moved here.." Which was a lie...

GUY2: "I outa knock the knock the f*ck out of you"

Thats when I was scared... And I lost it.

Me and my friend ran, around a corner, and thru an alley. I was going so fast, I almost tripped, but I kept going...

We lost them... We were about half a mile away from his house, a car coming down the street, with the bass booming..

This would be the Scariest Moment Of My Life...

Same people we met up with, before. We ran, again. confused.gif

Then. Gunshots. I swear I could feel that sh*t, flying right by me...

I always thought in the movies, why don't they hit him? (In the middle of a shootout) Well, I sure am glad, that it's like that in real life..

We kept running.. At this point, I'm swearing up and down, running for my damn life.

The shots stopped, and we hopped over a fence, about 5 minutes later. My buddy's fence.

Most of my friends do not belive that story, but I can assure you, it 100% true..

Hopefully none of you guys have to experience any of that stuff...

Try having a drunk guy break into your house while you're there alone (I was 11 years old at the time).

It was the middle of the day and I was just in the living room watching TV when this dude just burst through the front door. During the day, we typically didn't keep the doors locked because we lived in a relatively nice neighborhood.

Any who, he burst in and demanded to know where his daughters were and demanded to use my phone. I started crying and he just went "ohhh boooo hooo" all the while he was stumbling around.

I bolted out the back door and went to my neighbors. They proceeded to call the cops and the guy got arrested.

Still don't know where the hell he came from.

Oh c'mon, he was drunk and mistook your house for his. It could happen to anybody. mad.gif

For me, probably when I was really young and my mom was arrested for being drunk in public. We were around family, and my grandparents were watching me and not drinking, so it's not like she was putting me in harms way. She was pretty calm throughout the whole ordeal, but I was convinced mommy was going away forever. I didn't stop crying until she was out the next morning.

sh*t, I probably have better ones but heres one I remember distinctly. I was about 14 and me and my friend would always break into this huge abandoned office building on the weekends and f*ck around. This place.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cameron_Offices,_Belconnen

And one weekend it was about 10 at night or something, and we were wandering around when we found this walkway that connected to the building across that was still occupied, we crept in not knowing what to expect, and when we realized no one was there we proceeded to the lunch area to nick some free drinks (oh boy!) We had just started putting some beers into our bags when we heard a loud "Oi!" behind us and saw it was a security guard.

We ran all the way back to the top floor with the security guy following and ran around madly looking for the connector back to the abandoned building but when we couldn't find it we went into the bathrooms and kicked out a small window and climbed out on to the roof. We saw that the only way back was across the REALLY thin concrete things about 6 stories up (this was at night remember.)

We sprinted across them and quickly went back down the stairs in the abandoned building and got the f*ck out of there. Once we were on the opposite side of the road to the buildings we looked back to see a few security guys burst out of the bottom door and started looking around. We then went home and watched some invader zim. Those were the days.

EDIT: oh cool, theres a pic of the things we ran across on wikipedia

The section we went across was a lot higher though.
