I was in a huge fire fight for a mission. There were 2 guys on a ledge shooting down on me, and I could only get a shot on one of them. I cant believe what happened next. I shot the one guy and he dropped his shotgun, when it hit the ground it shot the guy next to him and killed him. I would have had to leave my cover to get the guy. Me and my roomate had one of those jaw drops moments. I would like to hear from other people with real stories of Game engine luck.

They could... AND, the person that died maybe pulled the trigger just before dying.

Worlds longest trigger-delay.

I own a handgun, one of the tests done on the gun is called a drop test. They load the gun, cock the hammer, turn the safety off, and drop it from 15 feet, it doesn't fire 100% of the time. They even drop it directly on the hammer.

not all guns are as safe as yours

So the gun does not go off 100% of the time. And when a mobster dies in GTA IV, his dropped gun also does not go off 100% of the time. Don't see the problem here.

Part of our citizenship requirements. LOL

OP: you are one lucky dude if that happened...and I'm not gonna hit you with the standard 'pics or it didn't happen' - it isn't that serious. You lucked out, kudos to you. You might also have rolled out and auto-targeted the both of them, cooked a grenade and tossed it up. Does that work? I'll try it tonight.

I was trying out the swing glitch. I got in a car and stopped it under one of them, facing the highway and the water. I waited for my car to get demolished, but next thing I know I get thrown out through the windsheild, soaring so d*mn in the sky, and after 15 seconds I land just near the shoreline in the water! R* should have put an instant replay feature in the game!

No, 100% of the time it is dropped there is no firing of the weapon. After 10,000 drops, 0 shots were fired. You get me . . . it doesn't happen. With an older street purchased shotgun however, it may be possible. But every gun in the game will fire from a drop eventually.

Why do I own a gun? To kill people. Shoot things. It is a nicer accessory to your hand than a ring or a watch.

On MP I was on TDM shotguns only. This person killed Some guy on our team, His shotgun dropped and hit this guy next to him. He was nearly dead so easy for me lol.

And Santiago how high do they drop them from. On that mission deconstruction for beginners some guy had a pistol and fell of 3 storys high and it went of.

There is a 15 ft drop that I know of for sure. They might also take it up to 25 ft, but after that I don't for sure. A three story drop might be enough to force a shot to fire, but I have seen people crouched behind cover, get shot, die, fall over, and the gun drops 1.5 ft and goes off.
