dannyhull
A lot of people are asking where stuff is, I don't know if it's just me or does the new GPS system cause people to stop learning their way around liberty City. I personly dont use it because I would rather know my own way around by useing the old way of just taking it in like the surroundings and knowing when to go rather than relying on the GPS
GtAkInG4aLl
f*ck the GPS, taxi is the way to go.
GTA3Freak-2001
f*ck the GPS, taxi is the way to go. Well that's even lazier! I use it but only until I know an area.
Lil' Red
I use it until I know the area... I know how to get from anywhere in Bohan to algonquin though.... actually it's quite easy. I haven't been in Broker much since I moved to Algonquin and I definitely haven't been in Dukes much, I sure would like a safehouse there. I spend most of my time in Algonquin so I know my way around there and Bohan is so small I know my way around there. I just haven't gotten Alderney, Broker, and Dukes down yet. I still use GPS in missions and whenever I want to get somewhere fast. Like if I want some clothes, I'm not gonna try and figure out how to get there I'll just throw on the GPS. If I'm not in a car already I'll get a cab.
maxopower
I only use the dot not the lins, like in the old games.
Pandemic0rgasm
I use it, I've played through the game and still don't have the map memorized.
wafflemaster
I couldn't function without it !! Knew so much of SA by memory but have no need with LC. The main thoroughfares are easy enough to locate, but quickly setting a way-point then putting your foot down is definitely the way forward. God forbid GTA ever returns to the (pre-GPS) past again
bloodclot
you can use GPS and still learn the city ...
ste_t_
i tried getting somewhere without it. i ended up on a road that went UNDER the one i needed to get on!
TinPotRay
i tried getting somewhere without it. i ended up on a road that went UNDER the one i needed to get on! Circa San Andreas from GTA1? That was one of the most difficult challenges of the original GTA's: battling with different elevated roads to find your mission waypoint. It was awesome to see more of that in GTA4. GTASIX
i tried getting somewhere without it. i ended up on a road that went UNDER the one i needed to get on! I hate when that happens. Thats why I stick to the GPS.
Tony Mozzarelli 80
I had the maps for 3 and VC memorized, but with SA and IV i can't retain that much information, lol but i prefer it that way. I kinda like the feeling of being surprised when i get round each corner

emigrating
I use it, but half the time I ignore it (just like in real life) because it takes me the long-way-around rather than the shortest/quickest route possible. There are spots on the map I haven't memorized yet (and probably never will, because nothing happens in them - dead space), but in general I know the city well enough to find my way from A to B no problem. ste_t_
what about when you know your A-B but when C is in that 'dead space' what happens then?

frip51
It takes you the long way around because it won't lead you towards one-way traffic I find it a pretty cool thing to have when on a hey-bring-me-dat-vehicle-in-perfect-condition type of mission. Should turn it off one day, I'm so lazy...
