My strategy is to aim for the tail and it goes down in about 2 hits otherwise yours takes too much damage and you wont live to fight another day. One of the first online rounds I ever did was a free roam, and I went and grabbed a heli and picked a guy at random and started harassing him. For about an hour I shot up every car, sent him running every direction, the works. He finally just got pissed off with me and grabbed a chopper of his own. Turned out, he was a much better pilot than he was a driver. That was a great fight. I shot him down three times, each time he came back. Only at the very end, though occasionally he'd get a lucky shot and start me smoking. I'm self-employed, work from home and sometimes get my day started with some TDM and strong coffee. This session went on for about an hour, and gradually I started tiring of it and had to get my butt to my desk and to work. I got sloppy, got too low and he took me down with an M4 blast.. I was able to put down near the airport helipads, got out and made a mad dash for another heli (I'd done this several times already). He came rushing out of the woods and hit me with his M4 before I could reach the new heli. He earned it. He was a pretty good sport about it - most guys would spend 5, 10 minutes and just say, screw it, this isn't fun, and they'd quit. He stayed in and spent an hour trying to kill me with everything from pistols to RPGs to helis. Lots of fun. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

AdZ767 Posted June 3, 2008 Share Posted June 3, 2008 I sometimes heli to heli dog fight with other people online (not the cops) but its not something i enjoy as much as in games like battlefield. IMO the annihlators miniguns are too weak (or they have too much armor), which makes dog fighting drag on abit too long considering how easy it is to get kills if your just running around shooting people with normal weapons. Also the long dogfights give the losing player a huge opportunity to escape saftely, which aint on if you have been pounding them for 10 mins and then they bail without a scrath and run off somewhere. tom_p1980 Posted June 3, 2008 Share Posted June 3, 2008 I'm pretty crap at dogfighting, I normally just ram their helicopter with mine and hopefully take them out, however this can backfire so you gotta get them good. I mean, the Annihilator sucks, all I had to do was fly into them. The miniguns did f*ck all to me. I ended up making one guy's propeller break off, and the other lost his tail. Boomether Posted June 3, 2008 Share Posted June 3, 2008 ever since i first heard of Gta 4, ive dreamed of a misson, or multiplayer mode where you rob a bank, escape in a helicopter, get followed by two police mavericks, adn have to shoot them down before landing, man, that would be awesome.
