Howard04
What would be a good host for a IGN or Gamespot type website? I heard not to use Godaddy, is there any good hosts for this particular type of website? I'm looking at eNom as I type this.
Toadyd
I like http://www.dreamhost.com and http://www.site5.com and have had excellent experiences with them both in the past. You can get discount codes dotted around internet too, i got a years with of the godaddy package for around $10, which included a free domain. When you consider a domain costs about $9 thats pretty good going. Those are both cheap, reliable, have been around for years and give you tonnes of space and bandwidth to play with. To me the three shared hosting packages i see on the eNom site are not going to be big enough. If you're hosting hi-res images, HD video footage, standard video and game demos/patches/mods/whatever then you're very quickly going to find yourself out of space and having the hassle of moving to a new provider. Key requirements if you're looking to build a dynamic site serving a lot of content: PHP MySQL Fast Plenty of space Plenty of bandwidth
