I think if theyre gonna make you pay for tolls, they should make you pay for gas. there are gas stations in the game, so why not? there could be a little gas meter in the bottom right hand corner and you have to pay attention to it. the cars can run out of gas and die. It would blow if you ran out of gas during a chase, but oh well. i just think it would be more realistic. if the cars can break down due to damage, why not have them run out of gas? That would be fun and challenging, especially on a mission. For example, car runs out of gas, you pull over and jack another ride only to find out they are low of fuel.....funny sh*t. And since it is New York City I think we should be able to play the stock market (hey legal gambling is known by the euphemism : INVESTING) and long and short the Dow and other major index etc... Then we can also play the commodities market and Niko can make a killing by purchasing Crude futures and wait for global peak oil to take place!!!! Yet you want your cars to run out of gas? I'm sorry, It just wouldn't work. It would be an interesting little feature at first, but by the 40th time you have to fill up a vehicle, it would just get frustrating. You don't think Rockstar have thought of that? While we're at it... why not make "realistic" damage... i.e. you rear-end someone and your radiator leaks all over and your engine blows up. And every time you're arrested you have to sit in jail, and go through the legal system, and deal with probation/parole. BTW, does anyone else get a sense of de ja vu with this topic? tarquin biscuitbarrel Posted June 3, 2008 Share Posted June 3, 2008 if you're in a chase with cops, you're car is more likely to die from collision damage before you run out of gas. so i don't think it would be a great idea. rockstar has gone with increased realism, but they've taken it in a way where you do have a choice to skip the annoying stuff - for example you can skip a toll booth. i don't know how you could avoid refuelling, that would be boring and annoying. Sounds easy? Well the car sucked gas like a heavily armoured tank, I beat the mission but the car stalled just as I was rolling into the destination. Another thing, If you got shot in the gas tank area your car would start leaking fuel and you could see your gas meter start dropping. It was a cool feature but you couldnt fix bullet holes in the mode that you would capture these cars in. (Free Ride Extreme) I got this awesome Phantom car in a sniper mission, and when I drove back to my driveway I noticed a bullet hole in the rear of the car and gas was leaking out Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I guess it would work if you only had to fill up very occasionally. Another idea would be that you could buy a 'coupon' from a garage that would disable the feature so you could choose whether to use it or not. 33stradale Posted June 4, 2008 Share Posted June 4, 2008 I thought of that and i thought why they didn't: he guys have known this ws gonna sell for newbs to the ps3, and tried not to put in anything that could not appeal certain gamers, it's the same deal with property ownership and stuff! I also think it would ruin they're aim to condense the hud as much as possible, and it would just be too much efffort to put in consumption and gas tank sizes to every car, and you might put petrole into deisel (or vv) which is always a bummer!
