Whaat? @topic: As far as I know, you need to login to an Administrator account to disable it. You could use a hardware based keylogger to get their password. Tell them you would like them to remove it for you now. Tell them sorry! for whatever it was that made them lock it in the first place. If you go and try to remove it yourself and it doesn't work but get busted in the attempt you'll be getting yourself into more deep sh*t than you started with thus extending the lock for who knows how long more and probably getting grounded too! Deuce Deuce Posted June 3, 2008 Share Posted June 3, 2008 If you're really desperate to disable parental controls, ask them to type in the password for the administrator account so you can install a game (but actually do install a game so they don't think you're up to anything) and change your own account to administrator in the process and disable it from there. Or.. When you boot up the PC, repeatedly tap F5 and select 'Safe Mode' when taken to a list and prompted to choose how you wish to start up Windows. When it gets to the log-on screen, you should see a new account that wasn't there before (probably called administrator) and login with that (ONLY if it doesn't require a password - more often than not it's left without one since it's created when you install Windows). If you can get onto that, you'll be able to edit account options from there in the control panel. I can't guarantee it will work, but you might as well try.
