ghost of delete key
Whoops, my bad. I meant 2K gecko. Or, ....right. So what did you think this was? Of course, as everyone within the Oort Belt knows, this celebrates both my 2000'th post and my 2000'th year at GTA Furrums. Ok, so you don't know who the hell I think I am, and that's par for the course, as I've been roaming the wild for the past 2 years. Not time wasted, though, as I've been psyching and gearing up for the IV release... however, life is always a jolly kick in the clambucket, and just as I find myself back online, I'm suddenly thrust on the move again. Today I got the word that the landlord of the house I live in will not be returning home, and will be committed to permanent managed care (as he's paraplegic, diabetic, and in generally poor condition. The kicker is that his house has been turned over to "cover the costs" as it were, and whatever holding company takes it over will do so by July 1st, meaning the ghost must find yet another new haunt. Long and the short is, this will be more of a "hi, how the hailstones have you been?" type post rather than the "hi, I'm back to permanently pester y'all" type post I was hoping to make. Sail a V. But anyway, the not-wasted-time aforementioned has been spent in a balls-to-the-wall study and practice of Pascal and C++, OpenGL, DirectX, and the Windows API. I'm currently in the throes of developing an expansible and distributed environment for... well of course, GTA modding, but more to the point, any type of modelling, scene rendering, and world development. In other words, a complete development platform capable of authoring a title every bit as robust as a typical off-the-shelf title, or just as capably author motion-captured and/or scripted animations with broadcast quality. It would be pretty neat to let the everyday hobbyist create something on par with a Pixar or O production, eh? and I don't want anyone re-mortgaging the farm to do it, either. You got 1.5 million? ..of anything, much less dollars? I don't, and that's why I want this app. Just sucks though that IV is out way before I've had a chance to get a fresh system and really kick it in the belly. My graphics management library is nowher near complete, although it is rather rich so far, providing a library of Delphi components and an API for developing threadsafe and renderable platform plugins. Big gotcha though, I'm working with dinosaur bones, old dusty mummy farts, and limestone technology. (nothing like learning from the ground up) I'm posting this from a rusty doorstop glued together from dead dumpster-stuffers; to the tune of a 200MHz MMX running 98Plus! with IE5 - d/l-ing 6 now, as Mozilla won't work on this platform, and the sore lack of a proper DVD driver keeps me from my tuneup archives. And this lame mobo won't fit the ram needed to run XP, not that I'd get ANYWARE @ 200MHz... And now that I have dialtone access, ...well, that says it all. I'm back to subradaring Juno Free on 28.8... yea, please someone plant the pike firmly between mine eyes... And the power keeps going out from a thunderstorm as I attempt to write this, since I haven't a UPS and I'm impatient... And then the kitchen exploded from a gas leak microseconds before a flaming meteor fell from the sky on the roof, causing me to trip, jamming a fork into my tonsils... But really, it's good to see a lot of familiar monikers roaming the halls, and it's good to see the scene thriving. Gives me a nice shot in the arm to keep this psycho project rolling and set some digital goals. Oh, and yadda yadda, r'speclisst, props, shout @ tha Connection, my feet hurt, and all that. I'm no good at podium junk so I'll leave it at that. Y'all know if I hate you or not, (anuj ) so carry on an have a happy, healthy, soy- and anime-free day! Buy Slurpees. . Really. No, I'm not bored, I'm constipated. Gimme Pepto Bismol. And Slurpees. . outs. swolo yaggins
godk! What a coincidence.. I'm thinking about the decline in Gen. Chat quality and how you used to spruce up the place and here you are celebrating your 2kth post. Wish you'd come more often and it's too bad about having to find a new house. You may not know who I am, it's because I'm Chunky Lee Chong. 5192:12.3.02LM/SSHmkl

Mike Tequeli
Damn, I thought you'd never return. I remember your old milestone topic was celebrating your 1789th post or something. I tried to explain that my disastrous first post on GTABoards was an accident, you called bullsh*t and then revised the respect to include me for some amazing reason. Or that is how I remember it. Welcome back.

anuj
I got a lot of rice, but I don't think I'm at 1.5 million. f*ck, the smallest thing I own and I still don't have over that many. <
ghost of delete key
anuj, oh anuj, I promise I will never stray again! Take your millions of rice and lets hold a Moonie-style mass wedding for about a thousand midgets. In Kentucky. Bowling and hot wings after 8:00, boil yer own 'shine... I seem to remember a post many moons ago telling of a trapped burglar who displayed what you described as (roughly) "the worst display of Ghetto Karate evar" in an attempt to flee the store; this causing me irreparable damage to my fuggiggly gland. You also said something about posting the video once returned... Well? what happened? I fell asleep and lost track. Or fell asleep on the tracks, or something. @ Mike Tequeli: wtf? I sort of remember that you used to piss me off once in awhile... meh. Just don't do it anymore. And don't talk about GTAB. 4 shame. Lumberjesus LIVES!!! hehe, that's my Australian name ...speaking of which, @Trows: tewdles! And yes, Chunky I remember you well and thx.etc all Edited June 1, 2008 by ghost of delete key "I can just imagine him driving off the edge of a cliff like Thelma & Louise, playing his Q:13 mix at full volume, crying into a bottle." - Craig
anuj
That tape was never returned, although I did run into the guy a few weeks ago. Turns out his broken tail bone never quite healed properly after repeated breakage attributed to trauma from a "nightstick-like object" according to local police. He walks pretty funny now, and nobody has any idea why I call him Drunken Master.
Eddie280
I wasn't around when you were here before, seeing as I am one of those god aweful IV noobs who popped up in 07, to the dismay of many of the vets . But I intend to stick around. I'm glad your back though because I've seen your posts about now and you seem like a good guy so welcome back, and congratulations on the 2k. Mark
Nah man, Slamman > godk. Duh! Christ, long time no see. Never really got to know you, I tended to disappear under rocks in the Modding Showroom, but your posts were awesome and you're a great geezer! That certainly is a kick in the nads about the landlord, such is the way things are. That tool you're planning sounds like sex in computer form! ghost of delete key
Nah man, Slamman > godk. Duh! Post Reported. Christ, long time no see...... ...you're a great geezer! 2 typos: - Lumberjesus - goat geezer That tool you're planning sounds like sex in computer form! Not just sex, but Tantra... Thank you for changing your name for me, to something I can easily remember. I don't know anyone named Mark, but all the folks named GTAuron with whom I deal on a daily basis... it gets me cornfused. --- See kiddies you don't have to post like the mouse is going out of fashion to be respected around here. That's right! Pay attention to Gareth, one of the most industriously useful custodians of Forum soul... That doesn't sound like bullsh*t, does it? ...'cause it's not. Greetz. --- @ Icarus. : A good kick in the 'nads keeps you on your toes. And it keeps bread on the 'Nad Doctor's table. So really the world revolves around ball-kicking. Everything works out. Really, though I do have a pickle: Bill (the landlord) has two fine golden retrievers here, which I've been caring for in his absence. Now they are going to be possibly adopted or given to a shelter, where they will likely be destroyed. I want to keep them, and I could, but for the fact that I haven't a 'next destination', so cannot guarantee a place for them. One other option only saves me one, as the keeper wouldn't be able to take both. One suffers from epilepsy, and needs a home that can guarantee a hazard-free environment, as one cannot always be present should he have a seizure. No fun. Amazing post. I don't know why, but I read it all. I am glad I did. Enticing all the way through.I don't know you, you don't know me, but congrats. Lovely post. Hope to see you around. Well thanx 4 teh kynd werdz! You seem like a fine poster yourself, and look forward to seeing you... Oh, wait. Nevarmain'd.
