lucifer vandross
So I have loved GTA since 1. I played it a lot. I 100% IV in time to hopefully recieve a key. I beat the complete story for SA and 3, but i guess because of school at the time (college) and working full time i never beat vice city. So, i had a gift card for gamestop and couldn't think of anything i wanted immediatly, i went ahead and picked up the "complete trilogy" because i didn't have a VC (previously mentioned ex got that and 3) could use a copy of 3 and didn't really mind a duplicate copy of SA (even though i do have my first day copy...somewhere.) So i pop in VC, and either the emulation on my ps3 is making it suck, or it just sucked and i couldn't tell back in the day. The game play is the same and fun, but the graphics were practically causing me eye strain. Maybe i just hyped them up in my mind too much and now going back they don't look as good as i remember, but i really feel like going back was a mistake (and worse yet a waste of money). I worry that going back to SA at this point would cause a similair reaction. I surely didn't expect IV graphics, but at the same time i didn't expect to be so shocked. Anyway, anyone else feel the same or experience the same.

sebthelodgemn
Not even on the PC for me. I'm like this with a lot of games. 3D games that stand on their own because they do something unique with their art style never grow old, but when you have a game like SA that tried to push for realism with the best hardware it had at the time and then GTA IV comes along, you can't go back. :\
Pandemic0rgasm
I've had no problem going back, especially for Vice City which I've beat probably 7 times and as far as stories and characters go is still my favorite GTA so far. If anything you just get used to it, and the graphics don't matter.

After you get to play something as immersive as GTA IV with Havok and Euphoria physics, dynamic weather and real-time lighting and an improved combat and cover system, I just can't have any fun with GTA3 or San Andreas. All I see is what's wrong with them.

The combat is what really bugs me...it's just so comically retarded
Erados
VC and III were unplayable after SA for me. I never played III much but I was heavily into VC and moreso into SA - I played SA since the month it came out to the day IV came out (daily). So SA will never really be boring to me, but I still don't want to play anymore because the graphics suck. It's like all games. The new ones set the standard, in this case with graphics. Yeah, with ENB and a few AA and AF mods, you can get about the same graphics as IV. Minus the character textures and such and physics.
Gouveia
I can't play any old GTA anymore. I kept pressing the RB button on Vice City to try to get cover
illadelph0808
its not just the graphics but the physics for me, getting hit by a car and hovvering on your back onto the ground, plus bulletholes, real exploding petrol stations, realistic NPC deaths ect.
