THE  ROOF IS IN THE PUDDING

I don't know what your trying to say. Until then I'll hold off on assumptions.

do you mean the proof is in the pudding?

Is that what the original post and or my response was about?

If thats what you or anyone thinks theres a job waiting for you in politics diverting attention from the facts.

Quit trying to scare us with your pudding tsunami.

You appear to be an attention wore sp? But I'm not interested in your stalking wayninja/ French Tom or whatever name you hide under. Read Below...

I've seen responses like yours before so it comes as no surprise.

Admit it... You were probably the one who started all those posts titled "Massive Explosions", "Carjackings", "Blowing up Choppers", "And As Good As The Hype" and "The Fat Woman Coming Through the TV"

Once you get off of rockstars pisswasser try posting something more authentic or at least debating the facts. Or on the other hand go do what your good at and continue cock riding. Now move along in life and find someone else to stalk!

Not so much a flaw in the engine. The game just doesn't have the ability to "remember" enough stuff... If you shoot enough bullet holes at a car you will eventually see the first bullet holes dissappear... This happens to EVERY game but in GTAIV the tolerance level is extremely low...

I was ramming into peds on the streets with my FIB car... I turn around and they are GONE! But they were dead 2 seconds ago!!!! The game "erases" hurt or dead people almost instantly if you don't look at them long enough.... So as long as you keep a direct LINE OF SIGHT they will not "vanish" (R* don't want us to see stuff "dissappear into thin air" although it happens all the time when you are not looking)

Im just wondering... Can some one explain this...

So how in a hospital rampage for example you wait and gun down anything that comes through the door including the noose. Their guns show orange and their are not moving but uou shoot them point blank for example and while your fighting waves and waves of other spawning LEOs

the ones I previously mentioned get up do a Dancing with the stars spin in shoot you with their lazer guided bullets or just stumble away. And why is it boats pull a reverse copperfield and pop up when you step one foot in the water and disappear when you step one foot in land. And when you get in the only one there before you take the controlls 5 more instantly pop op next to you.

I almost forgot. There are no magical spike strips? If your outrunning the cops and you know for a fact there are none on your radar near you including choppers and your almost out of the circle how do they pop your tire? They need to fix how some LEOs can pop up behind you or near you and not even be showing on the radar and when you turn to shott that one swarms magically just appear. What topps the cake is all this can happen inside a closed garage while you're against a wall with only one entrance. Come on...

When I was messing around in the hospital (btw why does the interiors of all the hospitals exactly the same??? to save dickspace?) I was shooting cops etc, everytime I turn suddenly around you know that big ass reception desk behind the initial set of chairs when you first go in? It is GONE! But the moment I turn around I see it "pop-in".... So fake... So lame... Come on... That's not acceptable....

Oh yeah and one time I got bomb from Packie right? Put bomb on back of cop's car. Blew his ass up but I barely rear ended him AFTER his car totally blew up cause I was tailing him too close and could not stop in time, guess what? I got a wanted level cause the game thought I ran into a cop car. I freaking got a wanted level for bumping into the back bumper of a exploded cop car... That is as fake as it gets... No realism....

One time it was even worse... Let me tell you... I was on a mission driving around... And you know those paper/cardboard looking yellowish poster "walls" on the corner of streets that you can knock down when driving around? I was going pretty fast

and my car had skid off the main road and onto where that distructable "wall" should be... It wasn't there... I didn't even notice it until this *I swear* extremely low res polygon with the most blurry as textures I have ever seen since N64 popped up outta nowhere and bisected right down the middle of my cars hood! It stood erect until I backed up out of it, then it turned into a recognizable "cardboard wall" and when I drove slightly forward again the whole then FINALLY fell down...

So makes me thing objects don't exists until you get very close, and even then sometimes it takes a REdicilous long time to popin as a low res sprite, and then even longer to finally be "high" (ahhh more like 640i) res texture and finally become interactive object.... The American Way of Life is not negotiable... We can't have this kind of crap R*.

Guys is it that hard to understand that Rockstar can't add every little thing we want in the game, its not that simple to just say "oh how great would it be if the player could do this" and then bam its in the game. People go on about how long the game has taken to be created, the delay included but have you ever stopped to think that half of this time was spent creating a new game engine so they had a platform on which to build a game on. This is why GTA IV may feel lighter on features then San Andreas and why GTA IV is only the beginning and all these initial complaints will be blown away by the next game. They have an established base to start from, this is GTA3 and Co. all over again!

Crimson Engage

Lets blame the ps3. R* had to hold the 360 release date back because the PS3 is to hard to code for. Another reason content was cut. 360 version of gta 4 had to have content cut because the PS3 couldnt handle it. (again to hard to code for) Thats why the 360 version runs at better frame rates. They had to cut sh*t out of the 360 version so both the PS3 and 360 versions were the same. Screw sony.

Don't you hate it how there is no way to be "stealthy" in this game? I mean since the first hitman series for PC came out the player could "change" clothes to swap identities... Why can't we do this in GTA?

This game does not implement or reward the player for being stealthy at all... There is no way to silently take someone down..

What happened to using a silencer on a gun? I am surprised not a single silencer in the entire game! And wait... theres more... hitman had fiber strangulation wire.. that could be easily implemented in GTA... it would be so cool! BUT NO... we don't have it...

Why can't we climb telephone poles? Sam Fischer puts Niko to SHAME! What happened to using shadows to not get caught? What use is all the dynamic lightening effects in the world if the game doesn't realistically put it to use?

If you fire a weapon in the middle of nowhere and no one sees you the cops KNOW its you even if you get rid of the weapon!!! In the very FIRST hitman series the game was smart enough that the cops would be SUSPICIOUS of you but not take action under they had reasonable doubt.....

So much for realistic gameplay... SHAME..

Actually, there are a few places in the game where climbing the telephone poles would make for good escape routes. In one particular mission it even seems like this was what R* imagined them being used for (no other reason why the pole would be right there), but alas you can't climb them after all.

And plus dont' mean to rant but the shooting mechanics in GTAIV is still not on par with that of even the very first PROJECT: IGI...

For those of you who have ACTUALLY PLAYED the game way back then.. I am sure you will agree with me... In that game you can tell the difference between AK-47 and M-16 just by the sound of the weapons... Each weapon was modeled very actually and simulated realistically down to the last action and smallest animation effects... As far as shooting mechanics go GTAIV has nothing on PROJECT IGI for PC... And that game is almost a decade old ...

Well its not like Rockstar would create their own engine just for one game, it is safe to assume though that they would have their number one selling series as the focus of what the game engine can do yet be flexible enough for other games. Table Tennis being one of them and Midnight Club LA being the next big thing after GTA IV. I am simply saying that creating a game engine from scratch is not any easy task and would of taken up a good chunk of the time between San Andreas and the release of GTA IV.

Yeah, that's kinda the point. The didn't 'create' this engine for GTAIV. They used it FOR GTAIV. I'm sure they had to tweak things and whatnot, but they couldn't have spent HALF their dev time on the engine alone, right?

Well maybe not half but some of the time that people may have assumed was all time spent creating the game may not of been so. I am going under the assumption people think R* have been working on GTA IV since after San Andreas. Since that is what was reported at the time.

Yeah it did but as I mentioned above R* were said to be starting work on the next GTA not long after San Andreas was done and dusted. I am not saying RAGE was created soley for GTA IV but as I said its a pretty obvious thing that Rockstar would of had its major series in mind when they created it while being flexible for other types of games as Table Tennis shows.

As for Project IGI, of course it has better weapons and combat, it is a tactical first person shooter which GTA is far from. It's a game about urban crime and honestly there does not need to be that detailed.

Well purely as a GTA game I have no gripes the game is perfect for just GTA.

That not why I got the game.. I got it because of the hype of LIVING, BREATHING CITY

with AI Citizens and matrix like immersion etc.....

It doesn't live up to it... Perhaps if programmed on PS3 or PC maybe, but unless 90% of all

buildings are enterable with full interiors and citizens "remember" day to day activities then

it will not be enough to satisfy me.

I just want to make one last comment:

Any other aviation enthusiastic here notice just how fake the airport and planes in GTAIV LC really are?

I mean its supposed to be an international airport right? The runways are only about 1500 ft long! So fake..

And there is not distinction between arrivals and departures? I mean come on Rockstar...

And the runways are labeled COMPLETELY WRONG. Anyone that knows anything about how runways are designated will

be able to spot the silly egregious mistake...

The Boeing 747 looks like a crappy polygon gone wrong. Reminds me of that 747 in Rainbow Six Rogue Spear Mission...

See here for REAL 747 simulation and FIDELITY.

I guess I won't be practicing my piloting skillz in GTA anytime soon... No ILS CATIII autoland in GTAIV for me! Sad...

BTW I can point out a hundred things wrong with the airport but I guess I will save you guys the pain...

Suffice it to say.... the airport in GTA is laughable.... JUST LAUGHABLE... It will take another 10 iterations for this game to catch up to what Microshaft Flight Simulator was 4 years ago...

SHAME..

I miss a silencer more than anything

And plus dont' mean to rant but the shooting mechanics in GTAIV is still not on par with that of even the very first PROJECT: IGI...

For those of you who have ACTUALLY PLAYED the game way back then.. I am sure you will agree with me... In that game you can tell the difference between AK-47 and M-16 just by the sound of the weapons... Each weapon was modeled very actually and simulated realistically down to the last action and smallest animation effects... As far as shooting mechanics go GTAIV has nothing on PROJECT IGI for PC... And that game is almost a decade old ...

I am perfectly fine thank you very much. Ironically what draws me to GTAIV is the same force that Repels me from the game.

Realism.

I love being able to play Flight Simulator, Virtual Sailor, Ship Simulator, Train Simulator, The Sims, Sim Cities, MicroShaft Midtown Madness, Motorcross, Hitman, Splinter Cell, etc... ALL-IN-ONE. In real life there is not a driving universe, a flying universe, a sailing universe... JUST ONE WORLD within a world within a world...

GTAIV is as close as it gets to reaching my ideal of unifications of all simulations under one roof... and yet...

so far away....

You can thank Microsoft and DLC for this, the death of GTA is being witnessed as we speak.

None of this is proof that the game was rushed. More than anything this lack of content just proves that R* wants to start selling features as addons.

LOL How true, a suspicious person after my own heart..hehe biggrin.gif

I just want to make one last comment:

Any other aviation enthusiastic here notice just how fake the airport and planes in GTAIV LC really are?

ok bochen, this isn't a flight simulator. For that matter, what about street signs? Where are the Muni-Meter signs that are all over New York? They got the "Don't Block The Box" right, but not much else about the NYC driving experience. First of all, traffic in the tunnels should NEVER move...Then traffic on the highways should only move stop and go up to 10 MPH max. There should be 200 times more vendors on the streets. The cops should ticket you for merely pulling over in a no parking zone even if you don't leave the car. Finally, there should be no parking whatsoever during the day in Algonquin...you should have to park in a garage to the tune of $50. And where pray tell is Jones Beach? Where are the 20 state and national parks in long island?

"Don't get me wrong, I love the game, it's the best I've ever played but..."

Every complaint posts seems to start with something like that.

That's because people know that if they come out with any sort of critisizm there will be at least 20

people who start crying "GTFO AND PLAY SAINTS ROW THEN IF YOU HATE MY BELOVED GAME"

when in actual fact they like the game but are just a bit disappointed

Preach!

You are in for a long wait for a real time simulation my friend. I'm not sure everyone would like a game where they had to always fill their car up with gas, repair damages, get oil changess, spend a week in bed sick, stop at stop signs and lights on every street, work a 9 to 5 in game job, shower, brush teeth, sleep in real time, no saves and when you die the game restarts, etc, etc, etc... Sometimes complete realism should be left to the real world buddy. If you have several billion dollars to spend, then go ahead and develop THAT game.
