Esco187
Well, i recently bought a new PC hoping to upgrade to an Nvidia 8800 sometime in the future, then i find out that i have a MicroATX Mobo. I don't really want to cough up for a new motherboard and just wanna get a brand new PciE GFX card that supports MicroATX so, Can anyone name any pretty good cheap cards that will work on a MicroATX? I don't want anything top of the line, just something that will run a bunch of quite new games. A guy on ebay said a Radeon HD2400pro works on any Mobo but i don't know whether to believe it or not Edited May 27, 2008 by Esco187
Andrew
We need your motherboard details, model etc. As far as I'm aware it doesn't matter about it being MicroATX or whatever they are just the size of the motherboard. Edit: aye doesn't matter if it is a MicroATX just needs to support PCIE, which is what the 8800GT needs. Otter
The only problem you may run into is if your case is micro-ATX as well, specifically one of the really tiny ones, and you can't physically fit one of these cards in.
SyphonPayne
The 8800GT is quite a long card. You'll need to make sure you have at least 9 inches of clearance lengthwise for the card. I believe it's 10 inches including the PCIe connector.
Democrab
If not, get a HD3650, those a pretty fast and are usually pretty small, but could you possibly take a photo of your cases insides, so we can get a idea of size?
Esco187
I'd take a photo of the case if i had my USB cable for my phone with me, but i don't. The mobo is a Foxconn 45CMX series, probably crappy but I don't really care. Size = 244mm x 203mm. The case is a decent size, it isn't mini or anything. Pretty much an average computer case. Also, i don't have a clue what the PSU is like.
Democrab
Well, I'm pretty sure you won't get a 8800GTX in your case, maybe a GTS or GT, but I wouldn't count on it...
