Protonkid
Back to the future for instance. Everytime I watch it I find something new. Nightmare on Elm street. Freddy is still the guy to chase you down in your dreams. What can YOU count as a cult movie?

TubbyJ
A lot of Quentin Tarantino movies seem like cult films, David Lynch's films like Eraserhead and Mulholland Dr, Monty Python films, The Goonies, and Blade Runner to name a few. It's hard to define a cult film, but it's always easy to know what's clearly cult and what's not.
TheJonesy
Waynes World It's hard to define a cult film, but it's always easy to know what's clearly cult and what's not. When exactly is a film considered "cult" anyway?

JoeyLeone25
"A cult film is a film that has acquired a highly devoted but relatively small group of fans." A few of my personal cult favourites are; The Lost Boys, Harold And Maude, Blue Velvet, Blade Runner and Kubrick's Dr Strangelove. DemonKing
Donnie Darko Night Watch/Day watch films (Even thought I thought they were sh*te) Most of the Coen brothers films E.G. Big Lebowski, Fargo, Blood Simple, Hudsucker Proxy etc. Office Space (Mostly because it involved Mike Judge) The Monty Python Films, Meaning of life, Holy grail, Life of brian. 12 Monkeys Tarantino films such as: Pulp Fiction, Reservoir dogs, Jackie Brown, Dusk till Dawn, Death proof etc. I aslo think Robert Rodriguez has a cult following with Planet terror. Evil dead trilogy, Or pretty much any of Bruce campbell films like Bubba Ho'tep etc. Napoleon Dynamite. Vanilla shake said Kevin smith films, His live shows have garnered a cult following as well. Dr. Strangelove and I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb. Near Dark Cronenburg's Films like: The Fly, Scanners and Spider etc. There's a lot of cult films out there, Most actors/Directors pretty much only produce cult films. And we all know Napoleon Dynamite wasn't popular at all. I didn't think it was. But yeah, I just did my research, and I suppose it is quite popular. >.< My bad. Still, I quote from Wikipedia: "The film has inspired a bevy of offbeat quotes and something of a cult following." I guess a cult following is just a group of very dedicated fans, not necessarily a small one. In which case, yeah, Monty Python and Quentin Taratino movies also have cult followings. I agree, I think that when something is described as 'cult' it's more of a feeling than an according to Hoyle definition.
Don Garcia aka NjNakedSnake
Dazed and Confused for sure. There's only two types of people, those who've seen this film and those who haven't. Those who have can sit at my lunch table anyday.
