wayninja
Huh? We should feel grateful and lucky that R* didn't make their game worse? You are quickly losing me. What I'm saying is people saying GTA IV isn't fun don't see that things could have been alot worse. They are lucky to even get what they got. Do you see what I'm saying? The reason I've used The Getaway as a comparison is, because anyone who's played it knows how incredibly boring it is when you're not on a mission. GTA IV could have been stripped down even further if R* wanted to. No, I don't see. Luck has nothing to do with it. If I pay $60 for entertainment, I expect to be entertained $60 worth. It's not luck. It would be lucky if I got it for free, or got $70 out of it, I suppose. But if it were really bad, I would just be really mad and probably try to return it for a refund. I don't feel lucky in any way by my purchase of this game.

Well given the fact that it's the only game I've been playing for 4 weeks supports that, but I'm a easy to please type of guy.
timredd
Niko's cool, the graphics are great , the city is amazing , I like the gameplay alot. But, the missions are real repetitive and a bit dull, ( compare 3 leaf clover with the san andreas and vice city bank jobs) If I want realism I'll turn off my xbox360 and walk down the street. Also the races are SO easy, there aint nuthin to spend money on, nothing happens when you get 100% etc etc Also it seems to me, that when they do a game set in the past they can condense the culture more effectively, ie the songs on the radio are cooler because they have to look back and see what still sounds good today rather than taking a chance on contemporary stuff. Don't you dare compare Three Leaf Clover with the VC bank job or the Casino Heist, neither of the last are as action packed or even as exciting, sure, there should've been pre-bank job missions, but the whole mission alone was incredible, it was a tribute to Heat, and very well done. The VC bank job was a great mission for being the first time it's actually done, the Casino Heist was also great, but kinda lost the charm when you were shooting the mobsters on your way out. motorforum
When someone picks a fight with their driver because Niko flipped the car he was in, you know this games a stroke of genius. It was so funny to see a fight break out between two occupants of the same car, all because I hit them and the passenger took objection like it was the driver's fault! Peter_G
Okay I am sick and tired of people saying that oh SA was better and stuff. Well 2 words for you people: DONT PLAY: if you guys dislike GTA 4 so much why are you guys playing? Also Gta 4 is better beacause of many things including graphics, its more realistic, has better driving, has internet, has a advanced cell phone and so on. And why in the world do people say GTA 4 sucks beacause of not having fingerless gloves. Either those people are idiots or wtf is the world coming to? It took you that long to come up with that solution.... After it has been said by many people already... Just because people think San Andreas was better doesn't mean they hate it. And why would they want to carry on playing a game they have been playing for the past 5 or so years whn a next gen game has came out? People waited so long for this game to come out and it has disappointed them, simple as. Let them have their opinions for f*cks sake. Some people are so f*cking stupid. Gimpy666
Personally I feel that the lack of unrealistic "features" (i.e. jetpacks, tanks, etc.) makes IV better. Why? Well because IMO it shows that GTA IV is the part of the series that seperates the TRUE fans from the bandwagoners. We true fans see the game for what it truly is: an epic masterpiece that captures the essence of a crime simulation game in all of its gritty glory. No "silly" bells n whistles (like haircuts, tattooes, car customization, etc.) here folks....what we have is a straight up, action packed, adrenaline fueled game that captures the true spirit of what a GTA game is supposed to be. I mean look at the original GTA's. They were 2D, had no NPC's to interact with, and the only "things" we could do were visit a Pay N Spray, crush cars at the docks for $, etc. But whatever. The point is...we LOVED the games. T'was only when SA started spoiling us with car customization, haircuts, jetpacks, dating, and all that that people started to bitch and whine. Plus (the majority) who bitch and whine about Ambulance and Firefighting missions being removed in IV are hilarious. Ever stop to think that maybe Rockstar did this for our benefit? After all, many of us were frustrated with how annoyingly hard these missions were due to the handling and cornering of the ambulance or firetrucks. And really, in a game like GTA these side missions were pretty hypocritical when you stop and think about it. I mean come on....we are supposed to be playing as a CRIMINAL. Not someone whom guns down a bunch of people in an instant, only to rescue and revive them the next. Silly no? Really the only side mission that was actually worthwhile was the Taxi one. Why? Well because we could drive around (and subsequentally learn the layout of the maps, as well as where important places in the game were, which was hightly beneficial when you stop and think about it). In conclusion, I feel that R* did the right thing by going back to their roots for IV and delivering us a bare, stripped down yet highly amazing installment of GTA. And to all the naysayers I say if you don't like IV, then go back to the SA forums where you all belong. Let us mature folk enjoy our game in peace. Tony Mozzarelli 80
Personally i hope they take out even more stuff that i have deemed to be unnecessary, for instance i don't like all this helicopter bollocks, you never had them in the original, so anyone who likes this feature is obviously a f*cking whiny little child, who only took note of the series after GTA3. Furthermore i'm a bit disappointed with all these car models. They don't need that many, it's just fluff, one car is enough, they all do the same job right? and why the f*ck did they bother to make it 3 dimensional anyway? Back to the barebones original GTA in glorious 2d i say, and anyone who disagrees is not a true GTA fan, all that Sims sh*t from SA was for f*cking losers.... oh apart from taking your friends on dates to raise your social bar, that's f*cking awesome, Rockstar obviously realized that that sh*t was gritty and truly in the spirit of GTA. Tatertotts
the game is called Grand Theft Auto, and real fans know that means stealing cars so you should only be able to steal cars the game should go back to it's roots' and get rid of all these guns and walking around and just let us steal cars

Tony Mozzarelli 80
Oh but it has just occured to me, that things being in the original game doesn't necessarily qualify as fitting in with what GTA is all about, take tanks for instance, what the f*ck's with that? everyone knows tanks aren't driveable, and even if they were someone from the military wouldn't be completely comfortable driving the. and flamethrowers are useless. why do we need extra ways to kill people, we have a handgun, anything else isn't needed
movado2
I just remembered about a shootout in SA and a leo said "dont let me die in my mothers basement" or "I don't want to die in my mothers basement" also the baller with the lone ranger mask HaHaHa I think was the one that said "Don't let my stature fool you I'm tall when I'm standing on my wallet" I don't think people playing SA wanted to be gangsters as much as laugh at some of the over the top ridiculous thinks like they could do. Its like watching Mad TV, SNL or the Chappelle Show and the "Keepin It Real" skits. What cop in real life says "I have to work out this donut.... To me this SA and IV is like going to the movies. Sometimes you want to see a serious movie and sometimes you just want to see something else to have fun even if everything in the movie(like most action ones) everyone knows is BS... There are some movies that are made to look to serious and sometimes you feel like its not as fun as you would have liked. For example I have all the Splinter Cell games but my least favorite is the last one DA. Its next generation, the graphics are great and its more real if thats what you want to call it. But its a completely different game not that its bad its just completely different than all the other ones. And the one in production already delayed several times Conviction? would be like night and day from all the rest and even the last. Yeah It would be more real according to people but I don't think I would like it. Before I make a judgement I would probably buy it and play it. JayM
When GTA4 came... People didnt like it much because we we're only to assume that each new GTA is to bring EVEN MORE to the table. But that wasnt the case for GTA4:no underwater swimming, no parachutes, no ridiculous cars (tanks, monster truck, bycicles, 4wheeler bike, go karts ect) no airplanes. But what did we get? Car washes, tv, comedy club, bowling, darts, cell phone. Thats why it was a big letdown. It took away instead of elaborting. bang on my friend, bang on
