Well 2 words for you people: DONT PLAY: if you guys dislike GTA 4 so much why are you guys playing? Also Gta 4 is better beacause of many things including graphics, its more realistic, has better driving, has internet, has a advanced cell phone and so on. And why in the world do people say GTA 4 sucks beacause of not having fingerless gloves. Either those people are idiots or wtf is the world coming to? Let me say that GTA4 is my favorite game for the current gen systems. I think people are a little disappointed because of the lack of "fun" features in the game. No casinos, parachutes, bicycles etc... They also took out things that were in previous versions. I for one don't have a problem with the game. It's first GTA on the new consoles so a "vanilla" version of the game is to be expected. I'm sure that Rockstar will add new features in the next installment or perhaps the DLC. You may not like the story, and the graphics and action are 7 years old, but more importantly, why are these two sets of attributes mutually exclusive? In GTA IV? Come one, the story has more loose ends then Santa Barbara had. You just loose contact with most people, they tend to disappear, or haven't you noticed. Gangs in SA were somewhat ridiculous and not realistic but they were FUN. Especially those guys in VC with some of their lines. "Don't touch the Mario men" or "I'm Diaz right hand man" or "vamos, haitian puttas, muerte" and such. That was funny and provided for immersion. I don't miss the clothes and weapons (they probably cut on that because they want to include it in DLC) and to say that GTA IV is sh*tty game only because of that would be dumb. However, why are there nor recoil animations and believable shells? Bikes were nice, although who does drive around on bikes in big towns? Since there aren't any hoods or suburban areas it makes sense to leave them out. But gangs and turfs? Those were some of the nicest features in GTA. It made you a bit more vigilant when walking the opposition ground. Noww the whole town just blend in one dull area. No jetpacks? OK, we want more realism. No planes? The city is to small. NOT 75% of SA as it was originally announced. Where would one go in a plane? But no parachutes? Why did they leave them out, with all those tall buildings? It doesn't make sense. Parachutes don't hurt "reality" and add a lot to content. Maybe in DLC, remains to be seen. Story with all those second choices? Definitely an improvement but needs more work. Cutscenes are too long and boring (IMHO) but variations in conversations are nice. Loose ends? Bad. Again, maybe because of DLC, maybe we find out what happened to those disappearing characters there. In that case I blame R* for toning down the game and leaving it undone only to promote x360. Really immature thing to do. I definitely miss open, intercity areas. They provide for a lot of fun and immersion for me. I understand that this is one city GTA but they could expand it a bit, with some suburb sites. Radio stations are lame. I liked the hip hop stations in SA, but there are like 5 of those now. Come on! Radio stations where a lot better before. All in all, this is not 10/10 games and this is why I hold reviewers in contempt for spreading lies. OK, this is vanilla GTA or whatever, but it definitely is not perfect 10 game. The one thing that sting in the eyes the most is gameplay. The game is just to easy. I want a funny game like III/VC/SA, not a game that's trying to be too much. GTA IV hit the sweet spot with seriousness, but removing cool features was just sh*t and getting 100% is very easy. Indeed it was good, but the story and the action were very derivative and stereotyped, it was even more cliché than vice, and vice already was the most generic mafia story. You just said what a hundred other people have said on here. The only difference is you put it worse. Almost every post on here has left out one thing - It's down to personal opinion. No one can say it's better or worse because there are no parachutes, or because they left out clothing for realism. One guy on here put it perfectly, the fun aspects that you would find on SA and the new, more realistic aspects on IV ARE NOT MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE. Just because you have one doesn't mean you can't have the other, if both were included then everyone would be happy and no one would have anything to bitch about. It seems more often that people are advocating the omission of the 'fun' aspects not because they think they should have been left out, but so they have something to argue about. You could play all the realisic aspects of the game and never have to use the parachute if you didn't want to, there's no problem in that. If anything, I don't see the reasoning in arguing between the game being this perfect work of art, which IN MY OPINION it is not, and the game being deeply flawed. It had everything GTA3 had AND introduced Helicopters, Motorcycles, Plane (Skimmer), new weapons (katana, tools such as hammer, knifes, ect), being able to purchase Safe Houses/Assets, the option of wearing different outfits, enterable buildings, mini games and being able to croutch San Andreas came and introduced EVEN MORE things! It had everything GTA3 and VC had. It introduced airplanes, fully customize your protagonist (weight/muscle/haircuts/Outfits), even MORE enterable buildings, able to learn 3 different fighting styles (boxing, karate, wrestling), way more cars (Huge selection of new cars, new boats, new helicopters + go kart and mosnterr truck and 4wheeler bike! lol), fighter jets, a f*cking jetpack!, ability to use airport to travel from one city to the next, able to customize cars (colour,wheels,hood,bumpers,ect) being able to swim and not drown like previous GTA and udnerwater too! And the amazing big selection of weapons (heat seeking RPG, Satchels, DILDOS!! FLOWERS!! haha) and stats (stamina, sex appeal, ect) and weapon stats (dual weapons, walk while shooting ect), have girlfriends that you could eventually f*ck! being able to make bets (horse races, casinos) PARACHUTES! Gangwars *takes a deep breath* Im sure I can list more. When GTA4 came... People didnt like it much because we we're only to assume that each new GTA is to bring EVEN MORE to the table. But that wasnt the case for GTA4: no underwater swimming, no parachutes, no ridiculous cars (tanks, monster truck, bycicles, 4wheeler bike, go karts ect) no airplanes. But what did we get? Car washes, tv, comedy club, bowling, darts, cell phone. Thats why it was a big letdown. It took away instead of elaborting. What I'm saying is people saying GTA IV isn't fun don't see that things could have been alot worse. They are lucky to even get what they got. Do you see what I'm saying? The reason I've used The Getaway as a comparison is, because anyone who's played it knows how incredibly boring it is when you're not on a mission. GTA IV could have been stripped down even further if R* wanted to. I know I wont change the minds of some people, but I'm just trying to gt my point across that GTA IV could be alot worse.
