Oh wow, really? You really think so? You mean to tell me GTA 4 is more realistic then San Andreas? OH REALLY?

"Rockstar sucks they took out parachutes!!"

"You suck! GTA4 is realistic!!!!"

"I want niko tank commander"

"GTA 4 is suppose to be realistic!! how can dirty immigrant drive tank!"

If GTA 4 was suppose to be soooooo realistic... and if San Andreas was soooooo unrealistic... Then tell me! ok, you got that? TELL ME.. Following so far? Then tell ME howcome in San Andreas you have the OPTION to workout change your body , eat too much and your body changes, get haircuts.

Hmm thats not realistic at all!! Im crazy. If this was a space issue.... I'd choose 1 barber shop over all the bars and bowling alleys!

NO ELVIS HAIR, NO BLUE HAIR. NORMAL HAIR CHOICES. f*ckING sh*t. If Rockstar wanted GTA4 to be so realistic then why they leave this super realistic option.

"I DONT WANT TO WORKOUT AND GET BUFF, RETARD"

guess what... its an option... gta is suppose to be a sandbox game... now... give me.. cookies...

Rockstar has said they didn't allow Niko's customization because it would throw off the physics engine.

I hate this whole "it doesn't suit Nikos character" bullsh*t argument, its a poor excuse for the game lacking some good content from the older games. They could have still added the option to customize Nikos hair, just make it more realistic so no Pink afros and cornrows and sh*t. I personally was hoping to be able to shave him bald and give him a Rick Ross beard that would be awesome and hilarious. The clothing options were also sh*t, how you gonna make a game in a simulated New York and only have 2 f*cking clothing stores and NO enterable malls, come the f*ck on mall killing sprees with Euphoria would have been awesome. They even have clothing websites that show skater clothes and urban clothes and sh*t but you can't even buy ANYTHING, what in the f*ck were they thinking.

How is going into a barber shop and going from bald to an afro in a matter of seconds realistic, or using a shaver to change your haid colour, or putting on so much weight in so little time/putting so much muscle on in so little time.

Now your making more sense, as i can see Niko getting a hair cut or a shave..ect, but just not overboard.

And i agree on more stores, this is a no brainer, as Niko does wind up with a good amount of money, and NYC has so many of these, it would fit in right.

But if you going to add this, do it with a damn purpose, do it so that Niko may get more action from his dates or for a mission where he can say suit up as a suit&tie exec., and sneak past a bunch of goons to do a silent hit.

But before we all go overboard on 'what i want!" whining, please just answer me this:

If you think having more buildings to enter is so easily possible on these current consoles, then why is it the 360 version barely averages 30fps and the PS3 averages only 25fps?

I really believe this is more of a limitation this generation, unless you want the graphics to be watered down, because with more interiors the frame rate on the PS3 would be at or under 20fps.

And then many would complain as to why it's running so slow..

Now if you want a more explorable city, there is no doubt the graphics will have to be downgraded or you'll see more load times.

Something will have to give with the same graphics quality, as it's just not possible to have more buildings to explore, when right now the PS3 versions runs only at 25fps in 640p.

You guys wanting everything need to think about what the graphics engine IS doing, instead of what it's not.

-The physics engine is one that is unmatched in the sandbox/open world area, as of right now.

-The lighting is top notch and each street has so many little details, that make each street stand apart. Unlike say Oblivion's forest's/caves all looking much the same.

If you look at the details of LC, it's unmatched this generation, and all the whiners are just taking this for granted.

-The A.I. of the npc's actually are not zombies anymore and will run away with gunshots, open a umbrella in the rain, steal a car with an open door..ect

-add in destructable enviroments as well

-add in a cover system

-You car won't just diapeear when you a few streets away

ect..ect

There is so much this engine is doing(no engine is doing more this generation, so far), that the 360 is lucky to handle it at 720p and 30fps and the PS3 needs to render it at a lower 640p and only 25fps.

And you guys want even more, with the first GTA this generation? Co'me on, do you think it's that easy?

Think about the strides Rockstar made going from GTAIII to GTA:VC to GTA:SA, in terms of the amount of the map size and on screen.

I'm sure Rockstar will improve upon this engine in it's next installment, it's just takes more time because it's doing much more then any FPS engine and more then the best open world games(Oblivion).

Just think about how COD4 looked compared to COD2 in a 2 year span.

One month ago, everyone was saying 'i cannot wait no more, i need this game now!" and now some of those same people are whining about what is not in the game.

A larger map doesn't necessarily mean less FPS - at least not if we are talking more interiors. Sure, if all the buildings in Star Junction were enterable with see-through glass-doors it would have to be rendered all the time (when in view), however the way they've done most of the interiors in IV is through a closed door, so whilst it's there it's not actually rendered (using cpu cycles) whilst not seen.

Destructable environments ... some of it is very impressive, but there is still room for improvement. Trees/Busstops for example - hitting them will bring you to a dead standstill.

As for vehicles disappearing. I dunno, this still seems to bother me at least. Perhaps not as much as previous games, but they still do disappear. Heck, they sometimes disappear during missions now (I know they are often moved slightly, but I once spent 15 minutes searching an entire area for my ride after a missions ... gone).

To be fair GTA IV is hardly realistic, it is just an excuse for GTA IV to cut out all the fun stuff.

Having said that, i'm much more impressed with LC, then any other current next generation engine..and it's sure to get even better.

PhilipO43, good post but I disagree on some points

If you think having more buildings to enter is so easily possible on these current consoles, then why is it the 360 version barely averages 30fps and the PS3 averages only 25fps?

People at R* should have thought of this in due time. You know how much content you can add, and you should know the possibilities of the consoles so if the graphics needs to take the hit, so be it. GTA was never about graphics, it was about CONTENT, it was about possibilities.

-The lighting is top notch and each street has so many little details, that make each street stand apart. Unlike say Oblivion's forest's/caves all looking much the same.

Sorry, but as far as I was able to notice, all the Oblivions locations were different. And it's a bit hard to add a lot of details to mines and caves. Saying that forests are not nice in Oblivion is a bit off target.

-The A.I. of the npc's actually are not zombies anymore and will run away with gunshots, open a umbrella in the rain, steal a car with an open door..ect

NPCs acted like this before (except for the umbrella). And I did expect a lot more from NPCs (even in scarface you could chat with people about some dumb crap).

-You car won't just diapeear when you a few streets away

Well, cars do disappear/appear quite often. They are spawned randomly all over the place (when you look away from time to time you will get surprised). Also, in previous GTA's cars could get "saved" for quite long time here and there. I remember some occasions where I provoked an accident, took another car and returned after few minutes the scene would be left untouched. Of course, this is far from a rule, it's a mere coincidence.

I'm sure Rockstar will improve upon this engine in it's next installment, it's just takes more time because it's doing much more then any FPS engine and more then the best open world games(Oblivion).

We can only hope. Take note that GTA is becoming quite expensive and it just can not sell that well to keep new installments coming. I think LC will get redone few times beforethey will be able to bring new town and map in a sequel.

I don't get that people say saints row is worse than gta iv but why can saints row 1 have customisation to the character and cars.

But saints row 2 which is out in august have gone even further with planes and crib customisation as well which says to me r* are lagging behind in next gen gaming in that point of view I don't think it was anything to do with what they said other wise saints row would'nt manage it.

Thay must have done it to go back to basics and add all the features in future GTA's like they did before

GTA4 is more realistic than San Andreas. It's quite obvious.

But the thing to remember here is that animation for such things as working out, and physical changes reflected in the characters weight aren't really achievable with Euphoria in place. It limits what a model can be made to do.

Just look at Niko's knee when running down some stairs. It wiggles in a weird way. It would have completely flipped out on an exercise bike.

Come on people. Think about things before you make foolish statements.

Signatures are dumb anyway.

Yeah, like I said - if all of Star Junction was enterable with windows to constantly see the interiors I can sortof see where you're coming from, however there is nothing stopping them from adding a lo-fi version of what you see through the windows and only doing the full render when you're actually inside.

I don't have a loadtime on entering the stripclubs?! There is a slight load when accepting a lapdance, but that's obviously to load the character scripts and 'cutscene graphics'.

Now, if there was a choice between a 2-3 second load and having a lot more buildings with interiors or having no load and having only a handful of enterable buildings I know which choice I would go for.

Of course they will improve on it, unfortunately we were all lead to believe a lot of the features we're now asking for were already in-game.

oh wow, its really realistic to kill 500 cops and still walk on the streets.

oh wow, its really realistc a fresh off the boat immigrant is a master at driving cars, sport cars, trucks, boats, and helicopters.

oh wow, its really realistic for a dirty immigrant to rob a bank with young irish men and get away

dozingoff.gif get my point? Your gay.

Going to the gym , getting hair cuts are things people do in real life. Rockstar wanted gta4 to have realism. They gave us a f*cking waste of time TV, a car wash NOBODY uses!!!!!!!! a Comedy Club that SHOWS THE SAME three not-funny CUTSCENES over and over!!! oh, the internet was great! The phonenumbers didnt work, the links on websites didnt work. They only worked if it was related to a Mission.

And I said in my first post

NO ELVIS HAIR, NO BLUE HAIR. NORMAL HAIR CHOICES.

= Gta4 should have option to get haircuts but normal and reasonable ones. No elvis hair, no afros, no coloured hair ect. But more along the lines of Shaved, not shaved, short hair/buzz cut.

and if your glorious GTA4 is so realistic then how can niko run full speed for ever? How can Niko regain health from eating a hotdog?

San Andreas wasnt realistic at all. BUT IT NEVER CLAIMED TO BE. sneaky2.gif
