LC doesn't feel like a real city

if you can think of a game that has come this close to creating a real city id like to hear it.

 

what do you want to make it like real life exactly?

 

- a newspaper splattered with diorreah on the side of the road?

- some smelly dude masturbating in a bus stop?

- some kids dousing a stray cat with lighter fluid?

Wow where do you live? Sounds like a sh*thole if that is what you see in your town.

Reminds me of a poor council estate somewhere in England, so that'd be my guess.

I'm sure the next installment this generation will be improved upon, just like say Saints Row will be in Saints Row2 or COD2 was to COD3 and then to COD4.

you cant, really, compare COD3 with COD2 or COD4, if the choose is between 2 and 3 I'll choose 2, 3 is just crap, plus its made bey Treytech (or whats that name) real COD's are made by Infinity Ward.

I have to say, I was somewhat disappointed with GTA 4 as well.

 

The game certainly looked beautiful. They did an especially great job on the water aspects.

 

But the missions were too repetitive. Part of the appeal of San Andreas was that you had to do weird and creative missions...

 

In GTA 4, every mission is the same: go somewhere and kill someone. It was fun for a while, but starting around 30%, it stopped being fun and I only kept playing to see how the damn thing would end (which was also a disappointment, by the way).

 

They did a good job at making some of the characters feel less 1-dimensional than previous games (Nico and Roman), but all the rest of the characters still felt pretty 1-dimensional.

 

Also, there was no story-arc. Maybe this is just because I'm a screenwriter, but the story meandered with little direction for most of the game, and then at the end they tacked on someone you were supposedly mad at. At the end of the game I was like "wha? I spent the whole game looking for a guy who sold me out before (which we didn't see in the game, and so it's less effective as a plot point)...and then I kill him...but the game is not over? Then I need to get revenge on Dimitri? I'd already forgotten about that guy. And then Pegerino is pissed at me? Ah! What a gaggle-f*ck of story telling!

 

I was disappointed that there was no big over-the top ending too, like at the end of SA, when the whole city rioted.

 

In GTA 4, they spent the whole game talking about terroists, why not have the game end with a huge, actual terrorist event that Nico helps execute or prevent or whatever? Just something big and spectacular! I mean...the game really just had no payoff
