ajjg123
I am attending a university in a couple of months and was just wondering if there were any CS majors who frequent this board. What are the classes like? If you have already graduated, what kind of job opportunities do you have? Any input is greatly appreciated.
Svip
CS is different from Uni to Uni. Some places it is very practical or some places it is very theoretical. Here at University of Copenhagen (where I study CS) is mainly theoretically.
Primer43
I am in an NSSA (Network Security, System Admin) program at R.I.T. but I take a lot of CS courses. I originally started as a CS major but got bored of programming very quickly. I still obviously do some programming but it is cut down a great deal. if you're into a LOT of C++ / Java you'll love it. Other schools may teach different languages.

Edwards
I almost choose CS but I ended up deciding I didn't want to do computing as a career. However, the program I'm going into in September is a double degree, B.ASc. in chemical engineering with a B.Sc. in computing technology. This is what the B.Sc. involves: ITI1120 Introduction to Computing I1 3 ADM1100 Introduction to Business Management 3 CSI2110 Data Structures and Algorithms 3 CSI2120 Programming Paradigms 3 CEG2136 Computer Architecture I 3 ELG2336 Electric Circuits and Machines for Mechanical Engineering 3 ITI1100 Digital Systems I 3 ITI1121 Introduction to Computing II 3 MAT1348 Discrete Mathematics for Computing Three credits chosen from CSI, SEG, CEG or ELG courses at the 2000 level or above. Three credits chosen from CSI, SEG or ELG courses at the 3000 level or above. I might be wrong, but it sounds kind of like CS Light. sysnode.org
