In 1992, they meet each other in the countryside of San Andreas and become partners robbing banks through the state of US until 2001 when they arrive in Liberty City and Catalina shoots Claude then, betraying him, leaving him for dead. Well, since Claude and Catalina met in Bone County, 1992, it is possible that in the 9 year gap, they might have pulled off a few robberies and real-estate scams. I don't think they hit anything major, because, they're still kinda poor at the beginning of III. In the beginning of III, We see Miguel stopping with a green Banshee in front of the Liberty City Bank in "Ghost Town", and then we see Catalina and a Cartel member bust the door and running out with briefcases full of money. Moments later we see Claude pushing the back door from which Catalina busted out with hsi back, and shooting inside with a shotgun. A gunshot is heard and Claude runs to see what happens. He sees Catalina, which shoots him, but he miraculously survived. (We know they arrive in Liberty in 2001 since El Burro says: "You are new in Liberty, but already gaining reputation on the streets".) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

How that makes Claude someone small(even though he's known to "pleasure" her and race at the same time) is beyond me but then again, GTA3 does have an unrealistic story so I never gave it that much thought. Well not a question but something to think about is the fact that Catalina could still be alive. Reason : You can do "Kingdome Come" and get the same note without any changes even if you've finished "The Exchange" before that. If you've played GTA III, you'd know Claude is against drugs, and wants to put an end to SPANK, a drug which Catalina was distributing, and was a big part of the drug cartel. @ Dark side: It was a note, so it could easily have been kept after Catalina's death until 'Kingdom Come' stepped in. Well, technically speaking, Claude was designed to make you feel you are the player, thus giving you a much better connection to the story and the character. Claude was supposed to speak in the VERY early beta, but Sam Houser was interviewed about IV, and he said. Claude not speaking was one of the last things we noticed, and I was like "f*ck it, it kinda works", so we made him a silent protagonist I can't find the source now, sorry. I'm quite positive they're going from Staunton to Portland. So where is Liberty City State Penitentiary? I don't know, it could be just a made up place, to add more depth to the story. Kinda like how the bank they rob isn't in Liberty City either. Makes you think there's someplace else "out there." How they're going to get there from Portland is beyond me though.. The Adrenalein pickup is supposed to be a drug too, remember? The only reason he tries to hinder SPANK's distribution in LC was to get revenge on Cat by making things difficult for her. Isn't that obvious? The Yakuza and the Leones were both enemies of the Cartel, just like Claude, himself. So why refuse their offer when they ask him to mess with SPANK and hence, get back at Cat? Besides, he was getting money, the reason for which the guy was willing to kill even his employers. Also, how was dumping Claude going to get her any "bigger fish"? Couldn't she just let Claude be by her side just like she had done for the past 9 years? Don't give it much thought if you ask me. It's just a little loose end.
