HOW TO: Stun punch & Disarm

STUN PUNCH

 

You have to target someone and walk up close without them noticing you e.g when someone is fiddling with things in their car boot or having a conversation. Then the aimpoint changes and you can knock people out with a stun punch.

 

DISARMING

 

To disarm ANY kind of weapon from someone all you do is get close and push and at the same time. You have to time it perfect. If you dance like a white man (dont have any timing) then just push them repeatedly.

 

Give this a try. It works perfect its just a little difficult to do...

Then right after you dodge press Y/Triangle or B/Circle.

I love Niko's counter, two hit punch and a roundhouse kick to finish them off.

I can't express how helpful this is. Though I wonder if the stun punch counts as a stealth knock down? I'll find out on my new playthrough.

Even fast punches can be dodged, but they require very fast reaction time and moving back at the same time when the opponent starts to swing. Or you can just get a melee weapon (Bat/Knife) which make avoiding fast punches pretty easy.

For some reason I have failed to make the stun punch work at anyone besides Jimmy in Vlad's "Clean Getaway" mission... GTAWiki says you can also stun punch the bouncers at Perestroika, but it doesn't seem to work on them either.

 

It's a shame TBH, because it's quite an epic feature, but feels drastically underused.

I thought the stun punch only worked in "Clean Getaway." If not, I can't seem to get him to do it now. And I can't seem to get Niko to do the roundhouse kick either. I've seen it done on YouTube, but I can't seem to get Niko to do it. I would love to see him do the roundhouse kick. It is cool. I'm on PS 3.
