Bikes in IV are too fast to control plus have such poor handeling like in Vice City...it's more real but at the same time sucks in bikes missions, everytime you hit a car you go flyin 3 feet away from your bike which lets the person you are chasein get a chance to make a clean get-away...that pissed me off.

I bearly ride bikes tho...i can't ride them well so I stay far away from them.

 

most the bike missions I ended up gettin off the bike and jackin the nearest car just to get the mission done.

In this version I would today, but motorcycles were my favorite in Vice City/San Andreas/Etc. I just haven't learned to drive them..

You just need to become a better rider. Once you've got the hang of it they're easier to control than any car/truck in the game.

 

Couple pointers; you can shift your weight on the bike moving the left analog stick up/down which helps with under/over-steer. On a bike (Faggio not included) you can actually brake (and slide) throughout corners.If you see a car up ahead get out of it's way as soon as possible and you wont hit it

 

Just yesterday I was on GTA Race (MP) and finished a 8-lap Don't Look Down race (with Supercars) 3 minutes before 2nd place - all because I found a NRG900 on my first lap.

So you'd rather have a bicycle, in which case people could outrun you, easily, in any clapped out old banger of a car?

 

In answer, no, I'm happier with motorbikes, they're faster and as Emigrating says, once you learn how to ride them they're great.

I would want both, i don't know why rockstar didn't include bycicles, see as theirs a gigantic number of courier boys on pedal bikes in and aroudn new york city and plenty of "green" business men take a bike to work instead of the usual taxi or car

Bikes in this game are fun for stunting and just fooling around. But bicycles are another story. They are too slow for getaway chases. Sometimes they could be fun though.

 

As emigrating said, you just need to become a better rider in order for control over the bike.

I'd want them both. And more different kinds of both. The bicycles weren't too slow for getaways in SA once you got your bicycling skill all the way up. You could go anywhere on a bicycle that you could go on foot, and no other vehicle could do that. This made it easy to duck into alleys, hop fences, and stuff like that, so it was actually easier to get away from people on a bike than it was on just about anything that didn't fly. You couldn't hop fences in any other vehicle. Bicycling was like sprinting, but 10 times faster, and you could jump much higher on a bike than on foot.

I would...I hate the bikes in this game. The bicycles were a lot of fun. It was cool to funny hop into a peds face and whatnot.

 

Plus, the skatepark would have a meaning.

I have to agree with Tatertotts. Bicycles were faster than sprinting and fun to jump fences with. But, bikes are 20x faster than sprinting.
