I mean this game is supposed to be realistic right? Well how come I can set off a car bomb inside of Burger Shot and nobody dies? Even the people sitting within 5 feet of it WTF? I also noticed you can't put a bomb on an Ambulance ether, censorship, ha ha Rockstar have no balls.

ever thought maybe, a carbomb is usually attached on or near the fuel tank of a car, which causes the huge explosion, the bomb itself is likely a fairly low level explosive

Except for the fact a full tank of gas would take out everything around it but ok. do you know what kind of damage iraqi car bombs do to the people and objects around it?

you mean, when attached to cars near the gas tank, as I've said, yes, an iraqi CAR bomb does do a lot of damage, but the damage is done by a CAR blowing up

also, generally, where the most damage is done, is either, on extremely crowded streets, which leads to the largest body count, or else the cars are drive into, or parked by integral structural areas, for example, supporting walls/pillars, which, obviously, would cause a building to collapse

And actually a car bomb in iraq has nothing to do with the gas in the tank.. they put old modified bombs/missiles in the trunks wired together.. Basically it becomes a bid gernade.. With the car being the shrapnel.. Trust me it is a very scary thing.. I did 2 tours so far and I was about 100 yards when one went off and took out a supply truck.. It was one of the most scariest moments of my life..

yeah, I was gonna say something along the same lines as that... it's a completely different animal.

What branch are you in?

How does the car bomb thing work in GTA? I called Packie, and went to the location of the bomb... Then what? I couldn't find the bomb anywhere...

It's usually hidden, look for the faint green chevron bouncing up and down. Stand RIGHT ON the green blob (on your radar) and you'll see it).

Oh and the bombs are brilliant. You just need to know where to use them. Petrol stations are great places.

The reason why the burger places aren't much good is because there's too much protection form the place dividers, which is a problem with the burgershot, not the bomb biggrin.gif

Oh another great place is in the hospital There are 2 enterable ones with wards, and you can get a car in there with a bit of effort.

Hmm... Ok, I'll try to find the bomb. But can you put it on motorbikes?

And there is one thing I liked to do in GTA III. I putted a carbomb on a random car and left in the street. Then I ran away from it (couple of blocks) and took a sniper. Then I observed the car with the scope, and evemtually some hoodlum tried to steal it... KA-BOOM! lol.gif

So I've never tried, but if I leave a car somewhere, and there's some gang members near, will they try to steal it in IV too?

The car bombs are fun as f*ck, but you have to sort of drive the other cars near it if you want a proper chain reaction. I agree that they arent lethal enough though.

I've not attempted to do so with an ambulance, but I've found that it works wonders on armored cars.

it's detonate.

i haven't gotten far enough into the story to get car bombs yet ( i take it this is packie's special ability eh )

but i know first thing i am going to do is drive another taxi into the perseus. i can't stand that smart-ass 'security' type and the swish salesman >_<

Yeah it's dumb how you can't blow ambulances up. I think that they should've included them for every car in the game.

Iraqi car bombs are generally a few tank shells in the trunk of the car. I don't know if you have ever seen a tank shell explode or not, but yeah, that is where the big explosion comes from. The car is shrapnel and transportation for a bomb, it is also a disguised bomb.

And a car blowing up by a 'supporting pillar' of a building isn't going to bring the building down.

yeah. i've noticed... well not what you describe... but I threw two grenades into a Perseus store and the two guys that were in there came running out, alive and well.. when I drove off, the police radio did mention something about a 'possible terrorist threat', but I could've heard that wrong.
