H13N.H3N
Pl.maan..im desperate..help me on this one.can anyone hlp me to convert dis 3ds (3ds max file) file to txd & dff.pplllleeeeeeeaaaasseeeeeeeee man..if anyone cn i cud send it for converting.. yee well.. chill pal, jeje, it's fine you feel so desesperate for not know what to do, many of the moders including me felt that way at the very start, and maybe you need to know some things first: 1.- .Dff files - this is the 3D model of the car/ped/building/weapon or any other 3D shape, it may include dummies as well some omni lights for planes and boats (only SA), important to know that dummies have especific functions and u must be carefull when you work on them (not even the R* it self can be safe of errors, as an example one vehicle named " DFT30" of SA has a bad dummy, and it's native of the game!!). well that works fine for now about Dffs 2.- TXD's files - This is where all textures are stored, one txd file can store many textures for one model, but the main txd must have the same name as the Dff. Maybe you already know this pretty much, at least average i hope. now, you can produce the Dff files from 3DS Max with all it needs, dummies, omni lights, hierarchies, even collision files (wich i will no thread here for not confussing you about, we have enough with the dff already) and the best tool ever know to export your models is a scripted plugin maded by Kam : the all mighty and well knowed "GTA Kam's Script for 3D Studio Max" also look for tutorials around for fine result, you will have to play around with these things before release anything at all, you can find these scripts easy, even with google, then for TXD i recomend you TXD Workshop or something more complete is G-TXD from ReSpawn, that tool works pretty cool, now if you get pissed of try and just can't manage it at all, you can always ask people to do so, but some pics will brought more interest. keep up anyway pal. H13N.H3N
I figured it out on converting to dff from bds max.but can you tell me what to select from, General Control SA Collision Base SA Char. Options in the KAM's GTA Script.im worried if i will ruin da boat.Oh..and wanna knw hw to create a txd. file to it.PLLLLLLLLL...........maaaan...Help...Word desparate is not enough to describe ma situation. well, the scripts does describe pretty much what you have to chose (also the Read Me that comes with the scripts leave no dout about every function of the tools), it's good idea that you first import (via Kams Script) some default model from your GTA game, play a little and for you to see how and what your vehicle have to.. have, most of that part is more from your own experiences to learn than anything i can tell you from mines, now, the main control in your panel has some buttons, Dff I/O has SA Collision base, that means that for export a model in SA, you have to... have a COL3 file or a DFF (only SA) with collision information, collision can be also make inside 3D studio with the proper method and it'll be for you in handy if you want a custom collision more acurate according to the shape of your boat, you also can use "Steve-M Col Editor", if you have GTA III or VC it's just doesn't matter if you have or not collision for Dff (at least not for exporting), try out Steve-M's col editor. now, SA Char options it's for rigging peds, not linked to car exporting, so don't worry for that if you have no peds for export. and for the last, the programs i already recommended you have the option to make TXD from scratch, i don't know if this is of use for you but try to make your best effort to understand the tools as much as you can, look for help only if you are really trapped pal, believe me, when you manage to understand the behavior of a program, you will have not so much problem with newer ones.
