Registry Entries

I transferred my GTA San Andreas files from a different computer to this one because I had a bunch of mods installed. I didn't want to reinstall them. GTA puts things in your registry for saving the game and such, which I can't do right now.

 

If anyone could take the time and look up in their registry for the GTA information so I can put it in?

Its probably gonna be in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Rockstar Games I think.

This is the path for the registry files of SA if you have installed the game for all users, otherwise it'll be in HKEY_CURRENT_USER. You'll have to create a key named 'GTA San Andreas' under Rockstar Games and another two keys indicating your 'version' and 'installation' under GTA San Andreas. The 'installation' should have exepath, installed and uninstallpath keys.

It's kinda difficult to explain this if you don't know how to handle keys in a registry. Besides, why would want to go through so much hassle? If you accidentally screw up a registry key, it can be disastrous.

 

I suggest reinstalling the game.

I'm familiar with how the registry works, and I do realize it could screw up my computer, but I just recently reformatted, so its not going to be a huge loss if I have to do so again.

 

And I do have the original disc, I'd just not rather install another copy.

 

Alright, all the keys have been made, now what strings am I going to need in all of those?
