You do know you are meant to hover your mouse over the 360 and PS3 text to see the seperate screenshots Oh my god, it wasnt that hard to figure out. They're similiar, but they could've f*cking stopped the game somehow. Ugh. The Xbox looks a bit better, but it all comes down to what you like. I played the game first on PS3 and thought it looked fantastic, then I got my own copy for 360 and in my opinion it looks much better. If you want the unbiased opinion of a 100% PC gamer that doesnt give a damn about neither console... the xbox360 version looks better, seems to have (better) MP, will have DLC and on top of that the 360 console is less expensive too. .Up&Coming. Posted May 24, 2008 Share Posted May 24, 2008 If I had to choose, I would say PS3 looks more realistic with the colors, but I do prefer the look of the 360. It's more appealing, but the PS3 does make it seem more real. Edit: What I hate is that some of the screens were taken at different times of day (like with the taxi), making them look completely different. chrispix Posted May 24, 2008 Share Posted May 24, 2008 Looking at the last one, it appears that the 360 has better AA than the PS3. Some of the color differences appear to be because of time of day. In other pictures the 360 looks crisper but some aliased, but the PS3 looks blury. (looking at background which tends to be almost the same in the pics). Either way, they both look pretty dang good. PhilipO43 Posted May 24, 2008 Share Posted May 24, 2008 (edited) That Gamespot comparision was not very well done, as you'll find better at say eurogamer and beyond3d. I have both versions played on a great HDTV(34" Sony XBR960, crt with great blacks..and superb detail), and each version has it's advantages. The main differences are these: -The 360 version is more sharper and clearer while the PS3 is using a blurry like filter across the screen. It's also rendered in 720p w/2X FSAA(the PS3 is rendered in 640p w/no FSAA) and it's colors are more precise. -The 360 version has an ugly dithering problem of which makes the signs look pixelated and unalligned. The PS3 is using a post processing filter to clean up the dithering of the 360 version, and it makes the whole image quality, more cleaner overall. The PS3 uses a yellow like tint(the 360 uses a blue tint), which gives the game a more 'movie' look and is more realistic looking then the more cartoon like look of the 360. On paper the 360 should have the edge with it's 720p and 2XFSAA, but it's has bad shadow and texture dithering which can make it look downright ugly at times. The brighter/warmer look of the PS3 version looks more movie like and less cartoon like, but it results in more unprecise color production. So in a nutshell, both versions have pro's and con's, and have a different graphical look to each. Both versions have a different style and after playing each version 15hrs in, if you had to ask me which version is better graphically, i'd still say it's a wash. Those pics seem exactly like what i see on my HDTV at 1080i. When you set the output to 480p, then the blurry look is removed, since it's not being upscaled.
