I was following a ped for a while (after reading an old thread) and he stopped dead in his tracks and yelled out "hey stop following me! you think i didn't notice?" then he turned around and punched me.. lol... You can just lay down, aka prompt the game to save but not save and wake up 6 hours in the future with no wanted level. You don't have to save at all. You = Fail. It works in VC too, not sure about GTA3. I find it quite helpful anyway! I've also noticed that the police didn't come in to your safehouse in the previous games, but they do in IV. All they do is ascend into the air, then fly forward accross by Happiness Island, then they fly over Alderny, then they fly all they way back to the Airport, descend and not land and then just ascend and continue.
