Blind Joe Death
There has been a lot of rumors over the past few years ever since that incredible Live 8 performance that Pink Floyd may just have another reunion and possibly go on one last world tour. I personally would do absolutely anything to go to a Pink Floyd show since they are my all time favourite band but because of my date of birth I have still yet to see them live, although I do have some of their live DVDs. The only thing really holding them back with having another tour or even possibly reuniting with one last performance is the tensions within the band since a lot of them don't get on very well, especially Roger Waters towards the rest of the remaining band. But even if Waters did not attend, it would be incredible. They've done it many times before without Waters and have released a few albums without him as well. But it would be better to have the whole real Pink Floyd band together (bar Syd Barret of course). So what do you think? Will it ever happen? I certainly hope so but I won't be surprised if it never comes about.
Oblivionz
I don't think it will ever happen, even though I absolutely love Pink Floyd. If it does, I'll be shocked.

Lt. Dan
They'll probably be like Led Zeppelin, reuniting every once in a while for charity or their friends at their record label.
Canoxa
I don't think it will ever happen, even though I absolutely love Pink Floyd. If it does, I'll be shocked. I might as well just second this, my thoughts exactly. David touring with the crew from Remember That Night, maybe 'cept for the guest stars would be the bomb though. Blind Joe Death
I was reading this on wikipedia and it shows some quotes by the members of Pink Floyd regarding a reunion, it's an interesting read. They seem to be very neutral on the idea, some of them saying they wouldn't do it and the others saying the would although it seems their opinions change very often so anything is possible. Many fans expressed hope that the band's Live 8 appearance would lead to a reunion tour, and a record-breaking US$250 million deal for a world tour was offered, but the band made it clear that they have no such plans. In the weeks after the show, however, the rifts between the members seem to have mostly healed. Gilmour confirmed that he and Waters are on "pretty amicable terms", but Waters has offered conflicting comments on the issue, with statements as varied as "I [can] roll over for one show, but I couldn't roll over for a whole f*cking tour" and "I hope we do it again," although most recently, his statements indicate his desire to play together again, not for a whole tour, but for an event similar to Live 8. On 31 January 2006, David Gilmour issued a joint statement on behalf of the group stating that they have no plans to reunite, refuting rumours from several media outlets. Gilmour later stated in an interview with La Repubblica that he is finished with Pink Floyd and wishes to focus on solo projects and his family. He mentions that he agreed to play Live 8 with Waters to support the cause, to make peace with Waters, and knowing he would regret not taking part. However, he states that Pink Floyd would be willing to perform for a concert "that would support Israeli-Palestinian peace efforts". Then speaking with Billboard, Gilmour changed his "finished with Pink Floyd" sentiment to "who knows". On 10 May 2007, Roger Waters performed at the Syd Barrett tribute concert at the Barbican Centre in London. This was then followed by a surprise performance by the post-Waters Pink Floyd line-up of David Gilmour, Rick Wright and Nick Mason of "Arnold Layne" to a rapturous applause and standing ovation. However, hopes of a second reunion concert with the band's classic lineup were dashed when Waters did not perform with the group. Roger Waters took to the stage to screams of "Pink Floyd!" to which he responded, "Later." Gilmour, Mason, and Wright took to the stage to screams of "Roger Waters!" to which Gilmour politely responded, "Yeah, he was here too, now the rest of us." More recently, Waters has become more and more open to a Pink Floyd reunion. In a 2007 interview, he said “I would have no problem if the rest of them wanted to get together. It wouldn’t even have to be to save the world. It could be just because it would be fun. And people would love it.” On 25 September 2007, Gilmour stated that a future reunion of Pink Floyd in any form, be it with or without Roger Waters, looked grim, stating that "I can’t see why I would want to be going back to that old thing. It’s very retrogressive. I want to look forward, and looking back isn’t my joy." Mason and Waters have said that they would be happy to do a Pink Floyd tour, but during the BBC1 Special, "Which One's Pink?," when asked about whether the band would reform, Gilmour ambiguously stated either "Ain't Gonna Happen" or "Anything could happen". Which of these two phrases were said is debatable. During the same documentary, Wright also stated that he "wouldn't mind playing the Pink Floyd 'music' again." A mouldy used tea bag
i think so, but not by the band members but their sons. Damn, I thought you were banned. And their sons aren't gonna do it, you moron.
Xo4
It isn't gonna happen as Much As I, and alot of people wish, it just won't happen.
Quadropheniac90
I believe Gilmour stated he was too old. And I saw a vid on Youtube where they met again by coincidence in 2007 or 2006 I believe. It wasn't a very warm reunion seeing they were in a band together for quite a while. Waters stated he'd want to join up under the condition of him having creative control, and I can very much understand why the rest of them wouldn't be OK with that. Even if Waters, Wright, and Mason wanted, I don't think Gilmour is really positive about the entire idea. I'd love a reunion, but it won't happen, at least not permanently. Slamman
Gilmour was at work on his solo album at the time Geldolf rang about Live8. Roger Waters had his sights on getting together, He and Mason had met earlier after years apart. It gelled, and thank God it did...it was a most beautiful event to ever take place in recent years, FAR, far too short. It is gone, and era past... Forever to live only in recordings, both pro and Am. [ie. bootlegs]

Slamman
After Valerie consented, she had a problem with it. I don't see why they didn't work out their marriage. Shame they broke up after SO many years.

It wasn't a very warm reunion seeing they were in a band together for quite a while. Is this the one you're talking about? Because I can see what you mean, they don't exactly look like they want to hang around each other for too long. Shame really. I've always seen Roger Waters as very arrogant which is one of the reason the band has had so many difficulties, I like Waters as a muscisian but not as a person. I've always loved Gilmour though, I'd turn gay for him.
Slamman
I knew that clip when mentioned, it was included on the Gilmour live BluRay. Most excellent hearing the new version of Wots Uh, the Deal! Love that tune.
PMan74
I love Pink Floyd and have shedloads of albums, books and DVDs of them. I think sadly Live 8 was our best chance and I missed it. I doubt it'll happen now. Certainly there won't be any more new material released under that name. It's a tragedy because Waters and Gilmour compliment each other perfectly. IMO Pink Floyd is only the sum of it's parts, which aren't quite as good seperately. ETA: That video makes me really sad. I wish they could sort it out. After Live 8 Gilmour said playing together was 'like sleeping with your ex-wife', which is hardly complimentary. Quadropheniac90
Yeah that was the one I meant. I have to say both guys solo are very good aswell. I have DVD's of both of them and been to a Waters concert. Sure it'd be more epic with them together but it was still awesome. Is the general PF topic deleted btw? GentlemanSquid
I was watching a documentary, 'The Pink Floyd Sound: Which Ones Pink?'. David and Roger said that they were both interested in doing a another SHOW together but not a tour because it would be too much.
joelzaar
There's been alot of talk here in Australia of them getting together and touring(very unlikely in Australia). I think they will, one of the most popular bands in the world, they would have to.

After Live 8 Gilmour said playing together was 'like sleeping with your ex-wife', which is hardly complimentary. I'd agree with that, Nick, Rog, Dave, Rick.... THAT IS FLOYD! I wish Gilmour was more objective. Once voicing on Rockline that he can't see it the way a fan does, he'll never be able to slip on a pair of headphones and listen to the album and get the same thrill a fan does. He's stated at the time, while taking calls from listeners..."It's Just the Career I'm In" He does approach it as a job, but he obviously keeps re-thinking his semi-retirement. That last live DVD was a total shock when I saw it at Walmart! I never expected it at all.
The Unvirginiser
What you have to think about is.. theres a lot of money to be made out of it And Mr. Waters may be very rich, but there is always things like Yatchts, private jets, upkeep... royalties can only go so far So for that reason alone I think it's possible
Blind Joe Death
Well I certainly hope they do make another reunion. It's highly unlikely that they'll go on a world tour (even though that would be incredible) but it would be great if they could play together just one more time in a long concert which is all about them without other bands playing on the same night like Live 8, and possibly even turn the concert into a LIVE DVD with interviews and everything that will satisfy the Pink Floyd fanatics. I would honestly travel anywhere in the world and pay any price to see their final concert.
Slamman
I paid $100 to see the reformed Van Halen and then Michael Anthony was out! Still excellent but the first time I saw them was The Monsters of Rock in 1988 Stateside, that was the best and I had the worst headache too! Only thing that put a damper on the day! I saw Floyd live two times at least, and I got to see the Eagles more then once, as well as The Who, so I don't regret that at all! I'll be there if a tour comes about but it maybe more like Led Zeppelin's UK get together. They taped that for release, but no word on it. I did hear there may be a tour resulting from that. ... So Never say NEVER, Dave!!!
