Wightboy Posted May 23, 2008 Share Posted May 23, 2008 I was bored so while browsing the forums i left my Nico sailing out to sea in a Dinghy with the X button pressed down I have left it on for around an hour now, constrantly heading north... Will i acterlly ever reach the map limits??? Im sure water can't be generated forever.... Maybey i'll stumble across a secret island or something out there.... It cannot be. There must be limits to what space they gave up on the disk for it. If you constantly generate it something will give I think... Edit: if your taking me seriously, ... dont... i know there is nothing out there and water is probably generated forever, I am no noob to map editing. i know the ins and outs of everything. SuperJude™ Posted May 24, 2008 Share Posted May 24, 2008 I've put some thought into this. In SA, you had to head EAST to hit the easter egg. Perhaps NORTH isn't the direction to head but WEST? I haven't heard any validation of easter eggs out that far but WEST seems to make logical sense in terms of their sense of humor, SA being WEST of Liberty city (California and NY). I balanced my controler so that R2 was pressed and tilted forward (I actually wanted to get rid of a 6 star by the time i came back, but it turns out you can't in a stolen fighter copter) went and made lunch came back after 30mins, nothing there, but you can keep trying if you want! GiveMeLiberty78 Posted May 24, 2008 Share Posted May 24, 2008 I've tried sailing north of LC and nothing ever happens, although I could swear the effects of time lapse much slower. Spooky. I mean, it seemed to take forever for the sun to go down (a good 50 real-time minutes of gameplay after having set off at about 7pm in-game time) and then eventually rise again. Thing is, I think there is a "limit" to the map, but when you reach it, it's like being on a treadmill: your boat keeps on "moving" but you don't actually go anywhere. Hope that analogy makes sense. So the chances of secret islands or the edge of the GTA universe being found are looking pretty bleak. Still, who knows - someone might get lucky. You never know...
