Yes the rampaging around the city is fun but there are other elements that add to the experience. Myself - I don't give a flying [email protected] about gyms, haircuts, or tattoos. Car customization is fun though, whether or not it fits into Niko's freaking storyline, it's still cool. Being able to have a personalized car is a good thing, most people like it. The car customization features in saintsrow were pretty amazing, saintsrow2 will probably step it up. Many are actually more pissed off about the lack of interiors, the lack of innovation, lack of interactivity. A new feature in GTA IV was relationships. The system is boring and fairly stupid. Yea you can take people out to eat but you don't even get to enter these restaurants, you can't walk into a bar and get hammered. When you drink and drive Niko complains and cops instantly cover your ass and run your car off the road. It's lame. And if you want 100% you have to deal with it. If they were going to have this big, huge, relationship feature, why not make it cool. Why can't you call a bitch over to your pad, throw parties, something. Instead we get these little, sparse, empty safehouses that are almost pointless. Why no 24/7's to buy crap in, shoot up, or more importantly rob. There are no interiors when R* preached there would be a lot. No banks to cause havoc in, WTF. No office building, no shopping centers, department stores, nothing except mission related interiors and fast food. If I had it my way we would be able to interact with pedestrians more. Maybe invite them places, rob them at gunpoint, talk to them. Just new and innovative sh!t, not the same exact formula. Car customization is not cool, it's for [email protected]! you see someone in a customed BMW you think [email protected]! You think i seriously wanna ground and pound t*sser! Again you seem to be arguing for sim like qualities for a computer game. Its a game, what matters is gameplay!..... in my opinion........ How do you reckon? I respect Rockstars decision, especially not to give the player a ridiculous option of having stupid f*cking hairstyles. My god! Go play a game with ridiculous customization which has no cares for a main storyline. Saints row. Alpine71 I thought it was a crime to say "storyline" in the same sentence as "Saint's Row" without including the word "no" before it. That game would have been so much better if I was actually interested in it. They could have removed the story entirely and it would have been better. At least I wouldn't have to watch those painful attempts at voice acting, especially from the main character. The craptastic multiplayer didn't help either. That's what the series has done, every new game has offered a little more. This time, instead of offering more features, it improved it's graphics. Since the graphics are now as good as they're going to get for the foreseeable future, R* needs something new to offer for the next game. It's a marketing strategy. Your right but your also wrong... San Andreas was very very hyped as well. Yet with all that hype, the game STILL blew everyone out of the water with how much content was in it. I don't feel that way about IV. Other than the graphics and the story, nothing really astonished me in the gameplay. It's a problem when we can start to expect what the next installment might bring. Because then things start to get predictable. That's why I think it was really important for GTA IV to be even more mind blowing than San Andreas or Vice city were. Now for Rockstar to gain thier crediblity back from gamers, I think the next GTA will have to be a massive step up in content and gameplay. Otherwise the series will start to get way too predictable. Look, I AM a GTA fan, and I have been since GTA 2. Amazing that I love GTA IV, is it not? What you people need to do is stop comparing GTA IV to San Andreas. They are two different games. Just because it is the next GTA, does not mean that it has to include everything the previous game did. GTA IV is a revolution of GTA III, which is why it is more grounded than San Andreas. Vice City and San Andreas were expansions. I don't know why I'm even bothering to keep replying to these topics, because someone is just going to jump on my back about it being their opinion, but I believe that is nullified if you are viewing the evidence correctly. GTA IV is NOT San Andreas, is it its own game. If you just don't like IV, then thats fine. But, you can't say IV is "missing" all of these things, because THEY ARE NOT MEANT TO BE IN THE GAME. Its a simple concept, but people expect to be pleased 100% all the time. Every single time one of these complaints comes up, its the same thing. IV doesn't have customization, there is no base jumping, no working out, no car modding, etc. Damn I think R* destroyed the game with San Andreas. I love San Andreas for what it was, but I never expected IV to be that game. If you didn't realize that before IV even came out, then you have nobody to blame but yourself. I think I'm finished with this topic. Now I'm going to wait for someone to feel offended by what I said for some reason and serve me a backlash.
