I'm too old for GTA and I do too much other stuff. I picked up a PS3 just to play this one and I'm thinking about returning it this week, before my return policy expires.

I've finished the main story. It was great, I was happy, I guess that's the end of that.

I dated Carmen but didn't bother to date anyone else (except for Kate and the undercover chick), I don't think I want to date the law chick.

I've driven all the cars. I think I've done all the side missions that I care to do but I'm not sure. I didn't do too many for Brucie or Little Jacob, or many of the Assassin missions but they just seemed repetitive and boring. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm not big into collecting things. I went over a number of the jumps, killed a few pigeons, etc but that stuff seems boring to me too. Maybe there are some interesting jumps?

I saw the heart in the Statue, tried to explore most of the islands, played with the Annihilator for awhile, figured out that there aren't any tanks in the game, observed some weird dudes (like the guy doing yoga next to the water, a Rabbi getting head in a laundromat, etc), and in general tried my best to experience as much as possible.

Before I get rid of this game and don't play anymore (I know this sucks, but it's just sorta how I am), what are you suggestions for stuff I should try to do? I'd hate to see some sweet Youtube clips in a few weeks and be jealous that I didn't partake in any of the GTAIV festivities that I should have.

Thanks guys smile.gif

Play the FUZZKNUCKLES CHALLENGE.

Start at the Firefly Island boardwalk and traverse the city, on foot, all the way to Honkers in Alderney. Unarmed.

At two stars wanted.

Not as easy as it sounds.

Signatures are dumb anyway.

i think the main problem with our jaded generation is convenient access to the internet.

i mean it sounds like you read where everything was ahead of time online, so obviously there is no fun in that.

i think the biggest reason why i as well as many others feel "too old" for games in general as opposed to the golden era like in the days of SNES, is because back then you didnt have message boards or google search or youtube walkthru's. you had to discover the secrets yourself, or unless the kids in your neighborhood spoiled it for you.

but nowadays, it only takes 30 seconds to have every possible thing in the game laid out conveniently for you in one web page which of course is going to take all the fun out of finding and doing them.

im not saying you should throw your computer away, but really, try playing the game without going online to "check" to see if youve done this ir that and it would be more fun. i actually regret doing this myself as i told myself before i bought the game that i would play the entire game thru before going online LOL (yeah right). anyway, thats just my 2 cents.

Play online with other people. I play more online than I do the story mode (which I'm only 6 missions into)

I agree with you and actually, you're wrong. I played the game how I wanted and only 'checked' for things at the end of it all. I didn't base my choices through what the repercussions are. The only reason I'm asking now is because I don't want to return it and find out there was a lot of cool stuff I missed.

You'll never be happy though will you? If you have missed something? You'll do it once and be bored with it. I dont understand people like you. Return it now, do us a favour.

You're not "too old" for GTA. You have an attitude problem. I'm 37 years old and find GTA IV enthralling and capable of entertaining me for a long time to come (also looking forward to DLC and future GTAs), and I'm also a retail manager at a computer store and I think you're abusing your store's return policy. So I can't say I approve of anything I know about you so far. Get help.

Online multiplayer.

You've never lived until you've gotten into an Annihilator cockfight.

you could try the challenge of doing the story mode again, only this time using only the cinematic camera when driving a vehicle.

actually that'd probably be so frustrating you'd take the game back anyway....

Story mode in on sitting, only using cinematic, watching all the cutscenes along the way. f*cking glorious idea.

People like you are scum. Now the rest of us get to pay more because you're a pile of sh*t that uses store return policies as a "trial period". You're so old yet you have no integrity at all. f*ckhat, I hate people like you.

A Rabbi ... getting head ... in a Laundromat?! What's this? *Makes a mad scramble to the nearest one* (IV obviously lol icon14.gif ).

Fun thing to do (well, sort of - depends on what you like, really) :

Get yourself a four star wanted level, and try to get away - swimming. I didn't last a freaking second, even though I was jiggling the controller left and right trying to avoid the chopper and boat bullets.

i have been addicted to gta since gta2 and im sad to say i usually find myself going to bed at night insterad of playing till my eyes burn. started noticing it last week.

i think im stricken with the gta bordom bug as well.

dont get me wrong, i love this game....its the sh*t and i woulda waited een longer. but sh*t, since they took some stuff out to focus more on the realism or wahtever they did, it made gameplay after missions not as entertaining, not as worthwhile.

i love the game alot, maybe this is a case similar to writers block, ill get over it and enjoy killing again. devil.gif

You want to return your PS3 too?

I would keep GTA 4 for multiplayer and would wait till Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Online, and Battlefield: Bad Company biggrin.gif

I would buy call of duty 4 if i was you. Single player and Multiplayer are both exceptional. GTA IV's online is quite good when you have the right people to play with but 80% of the time you have some retards on your team and it's just irritating.

I come back for the odd game of Cops and crooks. I've been playing Call of duty since november though. So if you're a fan of first person shooters and have online i reccomend you get that.

I understand a lot of people will call me an idiot and tell me to go away and try to tell me that i can't appreciate good games. The thing is although this game is good imo it is not on par with the previous titles.

Just don't return the game. DLC will be out soon and it may change your opinion about the game. In the meantime, just buy other games your interested in and play it.

what is really the point of buying an at minimum $400 system just to play one game and return both of them? There are a lot of good games coming out this year so regardless of how much time you have to devote to them even if you just end up playing an hour or two a week. it just seems like a huge waste of time to begin with to me for you to even buy the system if you're going to turn right around and return it.

Personally, I always find GTA fun, even after all the missions are done. I'm slowly going for 100% now, but I can surely see myself playing this after the 100%.

I think the game world is amazing, I love euphoria, I love going on random killing frenzy's.

you have so much to do, you can go sightseeing - there's so much stuff that I'm sure I didn't notice while playing. you can walk Algonquin, take a chopper, land on a building in the night and witness the beauty.

And oi vey zmir, where's this Rabbi?

I think the gamers who just play the main story are not inferior to the ones who did 100% and keep going. GTA can be taken as the story, and the core missions. The city, the cars, the soundtrack, are all there just to build the athmosphere and build the "scene" of the game.

After the completion of the game, you can waste 1000 hours in the game by driving around, walking around and shooting people and pidgeons. If you want to do that, you can. But you won't get a medal for it biggrin.gif

I dont even have a PS3, and I have seen and played the game at my neighbours place. I have seen how it looks and plays. Thats enough for me at this point.

If I had a PS3, I would play the game to finish. When it comes to PC, I will probably play it(finally, without having to go to the neighbour to play it).

To me the game is not the most interesting thing, its also the things around it (in the real world), the hype, the launch, the critics, the fans, the sales, the media coverage etc.....

I ask myself, what does GTA bring to society?

I love videogames. But when you think about it, its probably a waste of time to play one game for 200 hours.

You dont HAVE TO play the game like a freak. Rockstar have already gotten their money when you bought the game.

The only case in which 200 hours in GTA would be "normal" is to take GTA like a virtual playground in which you get lost for an hour or 2 a day. Just chilling out.
