nickit
so the other day i downloaded the proxy program called tor to proxy all my web surfing to an anonymous ip. i must not have configured it properly considering i got this message: [01:41] *** Error: Closing Link: mynick[my.isp.info.stuff] (User has been banned from GTANet (Tor exit server detected.)) (i changed my nick and isp above to protect my privacy) i was not aware that tor would affect my irc client, and i was also not aware that there were rules against this kind of program. either way, the program has been uninstalled (as this is not the only way if affected me), and i am wondering how to get unbanned from the irc server. nickit
so is there any way to get unbanned from irc? anyone feel like shedding light upon the situation??
Mike
You must have it installed still. Once you've uninstalled tor completely, the ban won't affect you (as you'll have your real IP again) and you'll be able to join.
nickit
well, i uninstalled it from the start menu. and its not on the add/remove program list. are you sure my ip wasnt sent to a master server with all the banned ips on it?
