Cannot Pick up Weapons

Recommended Posts

I've been playing GTA: San Andreas for over a week now without flaws. Has been and still does run excellent with one exception.

After starting the "Burning Desire" mission, the officer tells me of some cocktails he has hidden in an ally way. I drive all the way there and I simply cannot pick up the moltov cocktails. Therefore cannot advance in the mission, ultimately, disabling advancement in the storyline. After playing for awhile after this (collecting money, buying safe houses, etc) I have come to notice that it's not just the moltov it's any weapons that are on the map to begin with. I do not however have a problem picking up money or weapons that are dropped do to someones death.

What I tried,

Updated GTA to 1.01 - Failed (Failed as in still couldn't pick up item)

Uninstalled/Reinstalled - Failed (Failed as in still couldn't pick up item)

Patched to 1.01 again - Failed (Failed as in still couldn't pick up item)

Any help with this issue would be great, sorry mods if this is a repeat, I couldn't find a subject related to this.

CPU Specs,

Drivers are Current.

XP Pro Ver.2002 w/ SP2

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+ (2.6MHz)

2.00GB DDR Ram

NVidia 8400 GS 512MB PCIe

DirectX 9.0c

Thanks,

Dan

lil weasel

If you already have something in the save slot for a weapon/device you have to press the Action Key to replace it. If slot is empty pickup is automatic.

[L1] button on PS2, [Tab] Key on PC.

hint: get the shovel from Ryders backyard to break the windows
