Seriously...yeah its a problem but its happened to me only once, had a polic car on my spot but disappeared. Let me guess - he doesn't lock them because he has no keys? I did park two cars and a bike in the first savehouse's parking space for several saves and console restarts. It worked until I replaced one of the cars with a Mr. Tasty van. Then, the other car dissapeared after a time. But I hoard quite a few cars now and everything's fine *knockonwood* - for now! edit: but I never watched coppers to seize private property so far... gotta open my eyes, that's incredible! when does it happen? dannyhull Posted May 19, 2008 Share Posted May 19, 2008 The only cars i have ever lost is the poilce cars when they arrest some one but when i nbotice them doing it i just get a sniper rifle to their head and they soon stop and then just get out of the area and problem solved. I did once notice one had been moved considerably out of place but even then because the majority was still within the yellow markings it stayed there. I do recommend parking them tight to the side walk as you can, leaving them out slightly does leave them vulnerable to traffic. same here. i've never lost a car, and i've had 2 cars parked in each space always. they get rammed by ambulances, cop cars and occasionally taxi's but remain in place. don't sh*t where you sleep, then you won't have cops/paramedics ramming them out of the space. Darvinho Posted May 19, 2008 Share Posted May 19, 2008 I haven't lost a car from any of the spaces yet but while yes it probably is pretty annoying to lose an Infernus or Turismo it's not that hard to pop down to one of the car showrooms and steal one. You can evade the 1 star wanted level and drive it back to your safe house quite easily. As for the new system, I prefer it to the old garage format most definitely. p.s. Ive completed 100% of the game and now im kinda sad that its all over. Liberty City suddenly feels empty without the story or extra missions to keep me company... On the subject of cars, I have all the rare ones (I think) saved, gonna check on them all tonight! and switch the engines off lol... as mentioned though, it should be easy enough to get any of them to respawn, using brucies races for SuperGT and Comet etc, and the Sultan RS is always in its spawn location! the Futo GT seems to be all over the place too, seems I had had plenty of them in the past without realising! Scoty Posted May 19, 2008 Share Posted May 19, 2008 I've lost my best cars numerous times, sometimes I was able to re-load again and have my car back but other times like on the other side of the city they've disapeard. I lost all my Inferni like that, I like to keep the "gifted" cars as I like to play it like realistically then one had spawned in a parking spot so I took that but couldn't get it back to a safehouse before it was flipped, I went to get another car to ram it and get it right side up but it had disapeared when I drove back As my 360 has basically destroyed my GTA IV I'll wait 'til I get my PS3 and play again on that and try to keep all the "gifted" ones, along with that prison van thing in the mission where u have to free the guy then eventually shoot him I also didn't like the fact I could see where I was going to get a future safehouse, they should at least make it only visible once you have the place. Also whenever I get taxis and that to a safehouse it drives into the spot (depending which house) before the cars spawn so it screws up quite a bit. A lot of the time cars are out of position where I left them, and just generally randomly go missing, though it's still nowhere near as bad as VCS but it's still a problem. I think there should be a combination of garages and parking spots, as most of the time I use the car saves for vehicles I dont really drive much, just for cruising, if it were RL i would not be parking them on the street but keeping them locked up securely in a garage. Was very annoying. I've only lost one vehicle, which was my blue/black Comet as well(!) and took ages to find another, haven't seen the same paint job yet! But it is no way near as bad as VCS, man this feels like a pleasure after playing that. Whoever said you can store 4 is full of BS, 2 is the max, bike, car or heli. Sorry, you don't have to believe me... but somehow my bike stayed there with two cars in front of roman's apartment, as I said. bennisboy Posted May 19, 2008 Share Posted May 19, 2008 When you park the car up, the car will only stay in the parking space if you hold / Y so Niko pulls up the handbrake and actually turns off the car. If he leaves the car running it would vanish. True, unless you save straight away, then it stays no matter what. I basically stick to; If I'm about to save i just jump out quick. I have had lots of strange things happen in GTA tho... so i doesn't surprise me. My Funeral car gone.. but other times I've managed to have 5 or more cars in one spot stay there and never go missing. ( that's MY stolen bulletproof swat van !!! ). only other time i've lost vehicles is if i try to cram 3 or more into the space. i don't know why you are all griping about your cars being stolen as this game is built around what... stealing cars? RONIN1191 Posted May 19, 2008 Share Posted May 19, 2008 Can't testify to cars being jacked from the spot, but I've seen'm moved around (like it'd been pushed almost onto the sidewalk) and one time I actually witnessed a cop tryin to jack my Turismo...he didn't get away with it but he almost did. Shocked the hell outta me actually. LOL I think I understand why we're relegated to parking spaces - at least for now. I dunno, I have slightly unrealistic hopes for the DLC to come...more missions yea gravy, but I want more tidbits - maybe the ability to acquire property WITH a garage, maybe some real use for the money (Packie paid me a helluva lot of money for ONE job...now I don't know what to do with all of it lol), the ability to use my own pool table (the one in PX' pad), have more than one friend hang out with me at a time since they pretty much all know eachother, or know someone who knows someone who knows them typa thing. I was going to reply that my Comet was stolen but alas, that was not the case. I remember nearly blowing it up and having to sacrifice it during a run from the cops...this is why my prized autos are usually not taken on a mission.
