And the main thing about the GTA games is that there are many different ways to play them. What would be the point in watching someone else do it? It's much better when you can do it yourself, especially because you can try lots of different ways of doing it yourself. And then if you get a bit bored, you can go off on a rampage whenever you want. And how would a film cope with the tedium of things like the Taxi or Paramedic missions? With that in mind I don't think any of the GTA games so far would make for a good movie, or something more than Scarface clone for that matter.
