Grolsch
Is it just me or would Leon from the film of the same name have be a good alternate main character in gta4. Its probubly because i just watched it again the other night and it got me thinking about how well suited he would have been in this role. Leon is basically Niko in a sense that hes an immigrant although his history isnt clear, his under the radar job and 'skills' would have maybe given a little more to the character. Leon Spoiler ahead (for those of you who for some unknown reason havent seen it) ->Even though Leon died he had a lot going for him character wise and the same goes for Niko although i though he was a little flat, this alone may not be enough to take Niko's thunder away per se but i think leon would have been a better basis for a character. Im just splitting hairs here but possibly the Italian hitman/mafia has been overdone to an extent like Furio from the Sopranos, hell even he could have been niko too. I digress, tell me your opinions on Leon as gta4's alternative main character. Cheers. Edited May 18, 2008 by Grolsch
AnotherDave
I dunno, I love the film but Niko is Niko not Léon. GTA doesn't have the best or best written story but it works for the game and because of the nature of the plot you couldn't possibly substitute Jean Reno's character for Niko. On a side note, Léon was French not Italian if that's what you meant in your penultimate sentence.
Grolsch
Leon was Italian but Jean Reno i think prefered doing it in his style which is always good. Imdb Summary. Im not saying Leon would be a better niko but his character would have been a great alternative to him. Edited May 18, 2008 by Grolsch
