Something Strange Happened, Here's A Solution

Something strange happened to my game. Out of the blue after I shot-up a bunch of cops with four wanted stars and made it back to a safe house and saved my game, I got a sound that was like a ship's horn going non-stop. I remember this happened in GTA: SA a few times except I had a hissing sound in that game, anyway, in GTA 4, I saved my game in a different slot so that I had things saved but I saved it in a different slot encase I saved the horn sound as well and if I did I still would have my gameplay saved in the first slot before this problem happened. I turned my console off and back on and re-loaded the game and the sound was gone. You might wonder why I'm telling you this. It's a solution to fix the problem for others encase you get the same. I got worried at first and thought I was going to have to start all over again from mission one.

 

By the way, cheats never caused this because I never used any.

i had a horn going off in my game for a while too. i had killed ped in a car near the safehouse & their head was slumped against the wheel:

Hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnkkkkkkkk!!!!!!

 

save game = 6 hours pass by but the dead NPC was still outside the safehouse = still honnnnnnnnkkk

 

load saved game = reset environment = no more dead NPC at the wheel = peace and quiet.

 

 

my guess is you had someone dead across some steering wheel too and didn't notice.

i had that happen "inside" a building next to an internet cafe. I wanted to browse the in game internet but the horn was so annoying, i had to leave.
