Dissapointed with Police AI//

Ok, so has anyone else noticed that in GTA, when the cops "chase" you, it's always very poorly done. The cops act like they have speed governors installed on their cars. They always limit there speed and never actually try to keep up with you. I even escaped a 2 star wanted in the middle of Algonquin with a forklift once.

 

It seems they run into everything, and never chase you, instead just getting another unit to ram you up the road. I know it's possible for them to chase you, because in a certain missions where you have to escape form 3-5 russian mobsters, they chased me all the way from Algonquin to Alderny, and back to Algonquin. One even followed me into the subway until his car was hit and destroyed by a train!

 

Now why the hell can't the police do that? It would make running from them 10 times more interesting. Why do they make it this way?

they do. they just arn't stupid enough to do it when you are going realy fast. in a consigeri i had like 5 police box me in.

I've actually had some nice chases on the freeway with about 5-7 cop cars trying to ram me into the walls. Maybe its just because on the streets all the traffic means they automatically limit their speed while you can just drive off at full speed.

the police turn into rabid rottweilers when you get 3+ stars.

 

1-2 stars the police are casual.

 

on 3 stars the cops are a nightmare, i had a cop do the pit maneuver on me then in about 5 seconds i had 4 cop cars trap me against a wall... i couldn't escape for about 30 seconds

Lol, i was doing a mission, one with Bernie and i killed a cop and got three stars.

 

Escaped on one of those scooters (think it was a faggio). Pretty stupid police.

Hey, at least they TRY to follow you. In crackdown when you get a wanted level, cars containing enemies just start randomly spawning just out of your view. If you get into a car and drive away. The just stand around scratching their foreheads, and a new wave of enemies spawns ahead of your car. That was one of the less fine points of crackdown, but it was downright hilarious when a car appeared before the game had properly rendered it, and it was just a bunch of gangsters floating in midair trying to run you down.
