But then you think Liberty City is 'pretty boring' where I think its the best map ever in a GTA game by some distance, so we are never going to agree are we. The Albanian Mob are thought to share Hove Beach with the Russians. Dukes is controlled by the Irish Mob, Jamaicans also have a portion of the borough with Beechwood City. Bikers hang out by the Burgershot. Bohan is a ghetto run by the Puerto Rican Spanish Lords, there should be another gang that also resides in Bohan. Believed to be the most dangerous borough in the city. Algonquin is controlled by the five familes of Liberty City, the Triads also have a notable stronghold in Chinatown. Other gangs include the North Holland Hustlers and the Northwood Dominicans. There is a Skinhead/Punk gang forming around Middle Park, they are not very strong and are more of a group of thugs than an established gang. Alderney, although looked down upon by the rest of Liberty City, holds its own with the Pegorino Family Cosa Nostra in Westdyke. Korean gangsters are active in Koreatown, Alderney City. There is also the Lost Biker Club that holds turf in Acter, they are not alone as the North Holland Hustlers and MOB also have a piece of the same territory. I've been to New Jersey 4 times my whole life. I've been to Atlantic City, Jersey City, Camden and Newark and New Jersey is represented even poorer than NY in GTA IV. Now I'm not saying they are downright horrible represaitations but when you have lived in the same area or have been to the other are as long as I've lived in NY then you would agree that LC just barley looks like NY but doesn't really feel like NY. New Jersey is actually fun as a whole but since Alderney is a stae like New Jersey it was just represented bad. I think R* will show us the rest of Alderney sometime in the future. Maybe it'll have cities based off Camden, Newark, Atlantic and Jersey City( cuzz let's be honest Alderney City was ass). The more I think about it the more I beleive Carcer City may actually be based on Camden or something. I think we may get a GTA: Alderney or something. I also think since we only saw what about a 1/4th of Alderney on the LC map in IV I think maybe Alderney connects to Shorside Vale and it's actually that area we could never get to in GTA III and LCS or something lol. For some reason I doubt you've actually been anywhere in New Jersey and are just basing your ideas o how it is off movies, the internet and what you hear. Have you ever been to certain places in NY like Far Rockaway, Southside Jamaica, Brownsville, Marcy, Queensbridge and I can name many many more places? Trust me Staten Island is the most boring place on the East Coast and is 100000000 times worse than New Jersey. Haha. North Jersey is a dump. It gets way nicer the farther away you get from New York City honestly. I live in South Jersey and I have never seen the stereotypical Jersey guido, ever. So northeast, a 10 minute drive will land me in New York State, and I'm about 15 minutes away from the GW bridge... I can tell you I think Rockstar tried to base it off the area where I am. They didn't try to represent NJ as a whole state, I think they just went for the northeast NJ feel. So I think Alderney is actually really accurate. I want to give props to Leftwood actually, because it looks almost EXACTLY like downtown areas in the small towns around here. I also think it may be based off "Westwood," which is a town near me. And I believe Rockstar is already familiar with my area because in GTA1, they had two towns called "Hackenslash" and "Anglewood." Judging from the names, the towns were based off towns near me named "Hackensack," and "Englewood." I can't talk for Jersey City, because I've only been there a few times. I have no reason to go there really. And NJ actually does have a bunch of areas that look like the industrial zone in south Alderney. A little more south of me you get those areas. But overall, the extreme northeast of NJ is a very nice place and has a bunch of beautiful suburbs. Just like North Alderney. To all the people saying they've only been to Camden, Newark, Atlantic City, or Jersey City....Well, theres still more to New Jersey than those CITIES. Look at satellite imagery and you'll see a bunch of gas refineries, industrial warehouses and plants, and highways and ports and sh*tty stuff like that. But aside from that I've heard that NJ is actually pretty nice in the suburban area except it is nothing but a huge suburban sprawl. I will be going to New Jersey here in a couple weeks though, just the area around NYC (i'm going to the meadowlands stadium). I've always thought that it was an interesting place though. I mean its just really weird with the marshlands and the freeways running through it and all the industrial stuff and landfills, and its all next to one of the biggest cities and cultural centers of the world. It just seems so out of place for where it is. But back on topic to Alderney, I do think it is a boring part of LC. I find that I never really go there anymore I do my cop chases in Algonquin and Broker/Dukes. I'll sometimes go through it. The prison is funny to go into and shoot prisoners lol. But it just doesn't look cool like the other places. Its kinda dull but has some cool stuff. I liked how they added the industrial plant to make it like NJ. Slamman Posted May 19, 2008 Share Posted May 19, 2008 Interesting thing about the Meadowlands Arena (for those inclined) is that the BEST Eagles bootleg of the 1995 Reunion Hell Freezes Over tour was recorded there on a soundboard in stereo! It's as good as their 1980 double live LP but had the full show in 95 with Felder. Mine was stolen at work and I never found a proper replacement. I own a Class Axe made in Warren NJ, the USA division of BC Rich for awhile, how's that part of NJ?? I've yet to open that section of the game as I just got into Algonquin, but things are supposed to open up sooner then previous GTAs as you may recall. Not sure I buy into that.
