DoubleOGJohnson Posted May 18, 2008 Share Posted May 18, 2008 Do you like, or hate Alderney? Out of all of the places in GTAIV, Alderney seems like it gets the least respect. Its constantly sh*tted on and trashed on by the radio, media, and people from Algonquin as being the place you live if you cant make it in Liberty City. Then on top of that, LCPD runs it. Somebody from Algonquin even told me that he was thankful that the West River divided them from over there. Alderney has some hood areas like Acter, Tudor, and parts of Alderney City but even those places are ran by Liberty City gangs. Lets not act like dudes from Holland dont have Acter on lock, or Dominicans from Uptown aint running Tudor. And its like when I was doing missions in Alderney, all I wanted to do was do them as quick as possible so I could leave and get back to Liberty. Im concerned you may be having a hard time perceiving the difference between a video game and reality. In any case, yes, everyone hates Jersey. It's funny though cuz they cross the bridge to do all there shopping and to fill up there gas in Jersey. Hell some "New Yorkers" even move to the great Garden State because everything is cheaper from taxes to gas prices. So let them Greaseball New Yorkers talk sh1t about NJ all they want. Because at the end of the day they still NEED it lol. But I want to talk about whether Alderney is a good part of the game. I think the last island of GTA games always ends up getting played less. Shoreside Vale in GTA3 and Las Venturas in San Andreas didn't have as many missions in them, and seemed kind of empty. I think the same happened with Alderney. Most of it is industrial stuff that all looks the same. More than half of it never even has to be seen to get 100% in the game. Most of it is redundant. I have nothing against Jersey, except maybe that Bruce Springsteen is from there, but Staten Island really has nothing going on, except the dump/landfill. It's very diverse, away from the Industrial bit at the bottom there is the city centre with all the shops and the resdiential bit at the top, which is the nicest looking residential bit in the game.
